ARLINGTON, Texas – Los Angeles Angels outfielder Josh Hamilton said his wife had to call for security before his first game against the Texas Rangers because fans of his former team were shouting obscenities and personal insults at his family.

Hamilton said Saturday that security guards stayed near his wife, Katie, and their children, and that there weren’t any major incidents during Friday’s game.

ORIOLES: With Brian Roberts sidelined for three to four weeks with the ruptured tendon in the back of his knee, Ryan Flaherty of Portland made his second straight start.

“Obviously, every time you get a chance to play, it’s exciting, just to come out and help this team keep doing what it was doing the first three, four games of the season, help the team win,” Flaherty said.

Alexi Casilla will start at second base Sunday.

“We all know that Casilla runs better than Ryan. Ryan’s got a little more pop,” Manager Bucky Showalter said.
