DYER BROOK — Maine State Police have arrested a 65-year-old man with clergy visitation rights at the Aroostook County Jail on a charge of unlawful sexual touching of a woman he was counseling.

John Walker, who was arrested Friday at his home in Dyer Brook, is free on bail and will appear in court next month. State police say he met the 30-year-old woman at the jail, where her boyfriend was incarcerated, and that he allegedly made an unwanted advance while providing “spiritual counseling” to her at his home.

State police say it’s unclear if Walker is an ordained minister. He couldn’t be reached Monday; a phone number in his name was disconnected.
