BUCKFIELD — A woman who was allegedly shot in the neck Monday by her live-in boyfriend is expected to survive her wound.

Steve McCausland, a spokesman for the Maine State Police, said that 38-year-old Sharon Demayo had to be flown by Lifeflight helicopter to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

State troopers were called to Demayo’s home on Depot Street in Buckfield around 5 p.m.

They arrested 41-year-old Scott Ackley, who was being held Monday night at the Oxford County Jail on a charge of domestic violence assault.

Two teenage boys were inside the home at the time of the shooting but were not injured.
