NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Yale will celebrate the school’s first NCAA hockey championship with a rally at Ingalls Rink.

The rally is at 5 p.m. Monday. Doors at the hockey rink will open an hour earlier.

The Bulldogs beat the three top seeds in this year’s tournament to claim the title, including nearby in-state rival Quinnipiac in Saturday’s championship game.

The Elis beat the Bobcats 4-0 for the title, their first win in four games against Quinnipiac this season.

Yale has been playing hockey since 1896, but had reached the national semifinals just once before in 1952.

The NCAA title is the first for the school in any sport since the swim team won one in 1953.
