Don’t sell Congress Square Park!
On April 24, RockBridge Capital will present its third plan to build a private function room on Congress Square Park to the City Council’s Housing and Community Development Committee.
When someone wants to take what you have, and then says they will only take part of what you have, that’s not a compromise. It’s still a taking.
If Congress Square Park is sold, other parks can be sold. Just neglect the park, say it will be redesigned and present a plan to sell it. In this case, “redesign” means “sell.”
Congress Square Park needs tender loving care.
The Friends of Congress Square Park want to be good stewards of the park. Good public space is an important part of a healthy city.
Fix Congress Square Park — don’t sell it!
