BANGOR — A New York man has been indicted in connection with a fatal stabbing in Bangor earlier this month.

Police say a grand jury on Wednesday indicted 23-year-old Akeem Harris of Amityville, N.Y., on a murder charge in connection with the April 9 stabbing death of 30-year-old Thomas Taylor.

Harris is not in custody but Maine police have issued a warrant for his arrest. He is believed to be in New York.

Police say Harris, a former student at Eastern Maine Community College, stabbed Taylor outside an apartment complex during an argument. The two men knew each other.

Taylor was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead of a stab wound to the chest.
