ASHLAND, N.H. — A fire at a marina in Ashland, N.H., has damaged dozens of boats.

Firefighters were called to the Riveredge Marina on Squam Lake late Sunday.

WMUR-TV reports they found the boat slip and boat storage areas in flames. Some boats were melted from the heat.

Chief Steve Heath said some explosions were heard during the fire; they might have been boats that had fuel and were ready to go.

“It was very hot, and some brush on the other side of the river ignited, and we sent some units over there to control that,” Heath said.

The state fire marshal’s office is investigating the fire.

No injuries have been reported.

Booms were placed across the river to contain any fuel or liquids that might have spilled.

Fire investigators are interviewing boat owners as they try to determine what caused the fire.
