SOUTH BERWICK – Max McCoomb and Noah McDaniel hit two-run singles during a five-run sixth inning Thursday as Marshwood came from behind to stay unbeaten and defeat Biddeford 9-5 in an SMAA baseball game.

McCoomb also hit a pair of sacrifice flies to finish with four RBI, and McDaniel and Zack Quintal added three hits apiece for the Hawks (6-0).

Corey Collard and Brady Fleurent each had two hits for the Tigers (1-5), who scored five runs in the top of the sixth to take a 5-4 lead.

GORHAM 4, CHEVERUS 1: Damon Wallace pitched a five-hitter and had three hits as the Rams (4-3) topped the Stags (4-2) at Portland.

Wallace struck out six and walked one. He also scored twice and stole two bases.

WESTBROOK 7, DEERING 3: The Blue Blazes (5-1) bunched their runs over the fourth and fifth innings to beat the Rams (1-5) at Portland.

Derek Bouchard hit a two-run single during a four-run fourth and Keenan Lowe singled in two in the fifth.

THORNTON ACADEMY 4, BONNY EAGLE 0: Matt Rutherford struck out one and walked three in a five-hitter, and also had two hits, including a double, as the Trojans (2-4) downed the Scots (1-5) at Saco.

Thornton took charge with a three-run first inning sparked by Drew Lavigne’s RBI single.

SANFORD 3, KENNEBUNK 1: Ethan Gouin hit an RBI single and Jed Scott added a two-run double during a three-run fifth inning for the Spartans (1-5) against the Rams (2-4) at Sanford.

Scott finished with two hits, and Ryan Camire scattered eight hits with two strikeouts and one walk for Sanford.

MASSABESSIC 3, NOBLE 1: Casey Nava had two hits with an RBI and a run as the Mustangs (2-4) downed the Knights (1-5) at North Berwick.

Nava singled home Caleb Campbell, who reached on a triple in the first inning. Nava also singled, then scored on a double by Elliott Desvergnes in the third.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

BIDDEFORD 13, MCAULEY 12: Desiree Bastarache and Nikki Matteau each had four goals, and Shelby Courtois added three as the Tigers (1-3) held off the Lions (0-4) at Portland.

Katherine Lake had five goals, Alla Agren finished with three and Jordyn Carr stopped 11 shots for the Lions, who outscored the Tigers 7-2 in the second half.

FREEPORT 15, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 6: Meredith Broderick had four goals and three assists as the Falcons (4-2) beat the Raiders (1-3) at Freeport.

Seven players scored for Freeport: Courtney Broderick and Lizzy Martin put in three goals each.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 7, LINCOLN ACADEMY 5: Jessica Theriault, Kate Puiia and Kayla Pingree scored two goals apiece to lift the Falcons (1-4) over the Eagles (0-4) at Newcastle.

PORTLAND 15, WINDHAM 8: Drew Barry had six goals and two assists, and Isabel Stehli added five goals to lead the Bulldogs (3-2) past the Eagles (2-2) at Portland.

CAMDEN HILLS 12, MORSE 10: Lea Smith and Alice Flint scored three goals apiece as the Windjammers (3-1) edged the Shipbuilders (1-2) at Rockport.

SOFTBALL

TRAIP ACADEMY 10, BUCKFIELD 7: Kalie Andrews stuck out seven and went 4 for 5 to lift the Rangers (2-4) over the Bucks (2-2) at Buckfield.

SOUTH PORTLAND 28, DEERING 3: Erin Bogdanovich, Danica Gleason and Sam DiBiase homered as the Red Riots (5-2) downed the Rams (0-7) in five innings at Portland.
