Eastern Trail Events / 5:30 p.m. in Wells

At its annual meeting, the Eastern Trail Alliance will host a panel discussion that will feature community leaders who will talk about how they use the off-road trail that extends from South Portland down the coast to Kennebunk. Adventure Race / all day in Danforth

East Grand High is again holding its adventure race with $1,000 in prizes. Come compete in the 20-mile race through the wilderness of Eastern Maine. The stages include an off-trail compass run, a 9-mile mountain bike course, a 7-mile canoe paddle, a climbing wall and additional field obstacles. Participants can race individually, in pairs or on teams. New is a 33-mile canoe/kayak race from the headwaters of the Baskahegan, which will run in conjunction with the adventure race. Warren Woods Walk / May 18 at 5 p.m. in Scarborough

Birder Eddie Woodin will lead a bird walk at Warren Woods on the Scarborough Land Trust’s new property off Payne Road. Bring binoculars and wear boots for wet areas. Walk will be held rain or shine. Cancelled if there is a downpour. All welcome. To reserve a spot for parking, call 289-1199.

Hike in the Park / 2 p.m. in Freeport

Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park offers nature programs year-round every weekend. Meet at the benches at the end of the second parking lot. Free with park admission, which is $1 for ages 5 to 11 and $3 for ages 12 to 64. Call for updates, 865-4465.
