NORTH BERWICK – Erin Giles had three hits and Scarborough used a pair of two-run innings to pull away from Noble for an 8-1 victory Friday in an SMAA softball game.

Scarborough (6-0) went ahead 3-1 with two in the fourth on a single by Maggie Murphy and a double by Paige Moore-Haskell.

The Red Storm added two in the fifth on a groundout and a single by Brenna Kent.

Katie Taylor and Nicole Lanoie hit back-to-back doubles in the third for Noble (5-2).

MT. ARARAT 9, BRUNSWICK 2: Devon Hutchins doubled home two runs and scored on Kim Leslie’s single, helping Mt. Ararat (3-4) open a 4-0 first-inning lead over the Dragons (0-7) at Brunswick.

Taylor Pare scored the first of her four runs on Hutchins’ double. Pare finished with four hits, including a three-run homer.

Leslie pitched a three-hitter for the Eagles, striking out five.

BIDDEFORD 3, KENNEBUNK 2: Abbie Paquette struck out 10, walked none and held the Rams (2-3) to five hits, leading the Tigers (4-3) to a win at Kennebunk.

Carinn Burns pitched a two-hitter for Kennebunk.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 3, LINCOLN ACADEMY 1: Desiree Benner pitched a three-hitter to help Medomak Valley (5-2) edge Lincoln Academy (4-3) at Newcastle.

Benner struck out six but walked seven.

Lauren Guptill had two singles and scored twice.

CHEVERUS 7, WINDHAM 2: Sophie Giancotti’s single scored Brittany Bell and Katie Roy as the Stags (5-1) took a 2-0 first-inning lead over Windham (2-5) at Portland.

Libby DesRuisseaux also drove in two for Cheverus. Brittany Bell struck out five, and allowed seven hits and two walks.

MARSHWOOD 2, WESTBROOK 1: Gianna Riccardi beat a rundown on the third-base line to score the tying run in the sixth inning, and Sammy Crossman scored the winner from second when a line drive was dropped in the outfield on the next play as Marshwood (5-1) beat Westbrook (4-3) at South Berwick.

Westbrook took a 1-0 lead in the top of the sixth on Heather Berry’s single.

MASSABESIC 7, GORHAM 2: Dani Egan gave up three hits and struck out seven to help Massabesic (4-3) defeat Gorham (1-5) at Waterboro.

Egan was 3 for 4 with a triple. Kassidy Hill drove in two runs on three hits, and Regan Adams and Kaelyn Lucier hit RBI doubles for the Mustangs.

CAMDEN HILLS 16, MORSE 3: Amy Haynes had two hits with a three-run homer, and Juliana Haynes, Becca Hilt and Natalie Hamalainen also had two hits apiece as the Windjammers (4-3) beat the Shipbuilders (1-6) at Topsham.

Morgan Cram had a pair of doubles for Morse.

PORTLAND 21, MCAULEY 3: Leanne Reichert hit two home runs and an RBI single to lead Portland (2-5) over visiting McAuley (1-5) in a five-inning game at Portland.

Cassandra Kennei provided five hits for the Bulldogs.

Isabelle DiMillo was the winning pitcher with four strikeouts, one walk and four hits.

SANFORD 5, BONNY EAGLE 1: Sam Adams struck out 11 while allowing two hits, including Becca Howell’s homer, to lead the Spartans (4-3) over Bonny Eagle (3-4) at Sanford.

Jen Jones singled home a run and scored on Caitlin Pierce’s two-run double for a 4-0 first-inning lead.

CAPE ELIZABETH 13, TRAIP ACADEMY 0: Cape Elizabeth (6-0) totaled 15 hits to down Traip Academy (2-5) in five innings at Kittery.

Kate Rabasca and Anna Goldstein combined to pitch a two-hitter for the Capers.

WELLS 11, LAKE REGION 0: Lauren Bame pitched a two-hit shutout as the Warriors (5-3) beat Lake Region (0-6) at Wells.

Bame struck out 10 with one walk. She was also 3 for 3.

Meghan Young and Kate Tufts hit two-run doubles during a five-run fifth inning.

GREELY 11, FALMOUTH 7: Elyse Dinan’s three-run homer highlighted a five-run first inning for the Rangers (6-1) against Falmouth (2-3) at Cumberland.

Greely’s first six batters reached base. Dinan’s homer gave the Rangers a 3-2 lead. Abby Nielsen doubled home the fourth run and scored the fifth.

Danielle Cimino finished with four hits, three runs and two RBI for Greely.

Elizabeth Walker homered for the Yachtsmen.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 5, FREEPORT 0: Maria Valente pitched a five-hitter with six strikeouts and no walks to lead the Patriots (5-3) over the Falcons (3-4) at Freeport.

Anna Knapp had two hits, including a triple, and scored twice. Samantha Wilkins and Alexandra Thompson also had two hits for Gray-New Gloucester.

CONY 12, LEWISTON 0: Sonja Morse and Arika Brochu each pitched three innings of a two-hit shutout as the Rams (7-0) dominated the Blue Devils (1-6) in a six-inning game at Lewiston.

Four of Cony’s nine hits were for extra bases.

Morse and Alyssah Dennett doubled, Kassidy Turgeon tripled and freshman Sydney Cheever belted a home run.
