CUMBERLAND – Miles Shields hit a one-out double in the bottom of the sixth and scored on a single by Bailey Train to lift Greely to a 1-0 win over Yarmouth in a Western Maine Conference baseball game Wednesday.

Train struck out eight and walked two while throwing a three-hitter for Greely (11-0).

Nick Lainey of Yarmouth (6-5) pitched a four-hitter with four strikeouts and no walks.

SOUTH PORTLAND 10, PORTLAND 3: Adam Helmke drove in three runs to pace the Red Riots (5-5) past the Bulldogs (5-4) at Hadlock Field.

Nick Whitten pitched a six-hitter for South Portland.

CAPE ELIZABETH 1, LAKE REGION 0: Aaron Dobieski scored on a hit by Zach Culver in the third inning as the Capers (7-4) edged the Lakers (2-9) at Cape Elizabeth.

Culver pitched a six-hitter with 11 strikeouts and two walks.

FALMOUTH 11, POLAND 7: Drew Proctor drove in five runs to lead the Yachtsmen (9-1) over the Knights (5-6) at Poland.

Falmouth broke the game open with a seven-run fifth inning.

Connor Murphy (4-0) allowed six hits through six innings.

FREEPORT 4, WELLS 2: Nick Cartmell hit an RBI single and Pete LaMagna added a sacrifice fly as the Falcons (5-6) scored four runs in the first inning and held on to edge the Warriors (3-8) at Freeport.

Daniel Burke gave up one run in 51/3 innings to earn the win and also had a pair of hits.

Reliever James Purdy stranded runners on second and third in the sixth by getting two straight pop-ups.

Daniel Quint and Shawn Ramsey had two hits apiece for Wells.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 11, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 3: Tyler St. Pierre initiated a six-run first inning rally with a leadoff single and concluded it with an RBI single as the Patriots (3-8) beat the Raiders (5-6) at Gray.

J.T. Magno added a two-run double in the first.

SACOPEE VALLEY 8, WAYNFLETE 4: Nick York struck out nine and hit a home run, and the Hawks (5-7) scored four runs in the top of the seventh to beat the Flyers (6-3) at Portland.

Brady Anderson and Kyle Jordan also homered for Sacopee Valley.

Andrew Butler had three hits, including a double, for Waynflete.

YORK 8, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 4: Derek Neal drove home three runs on two hits as the Wildcats (9-2) beat the Seagulls (4-7) at Old Orchard Beach.

OCEANSIDE 5, CAMDEN HILLS 2: Ryan Allender retired the final 10 batters to complete a three-hitter for the Mariners (7-5) against the Windjammers (8-3) at Rockport.

Dan Hendricks and Travis Frye each hit an RBI single during a three-run first inning. Allender added an RBI single and scored in the sixth.

John Hall had a pair of hits for Camden Hills.

MORSE 8, MT. VIEW 5: The Shipbuilders (9-3) scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth to rally past the Mustangs (3-9) at Bath.

Nate Lord tripled, doubled and drove in a pair of runs for Mt. View.

OXFORD HILLS 9, CONY 8: Ryan Godin singled home the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning to lift the Vikings (11-1) over the Rams (8-3) at South Paris.

LACROSSE

CAPE ELIZABETH 9, FALMOUTH 6: The Capers (7-1) outscored Falmouth 7-2 in the second half to earn a victory at Cape Elizabeth.

Alex Bornick tied the game at 6 with 7:25 left, and James Yokabaskas provided the go-ahead goal with 4:47 remaining.

Bornick finished with four goals and an assist.

Charlie Fay had two goals and two assists for the Yachtsmen (6-3). Will Nash made 19 saves.

YARMOUTH 11, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 6: Nick Ronan, Quinn Hathcock and Brady Neujahr scored two goals each for the Clippers (8-1) in a win over the Panthers (5-3) at Yarmouth.

T.J. Daigler tallied three goals for NYA.

DEERING 8, GORHAM 7: Rick Murray scored four goals and Alec Halpin added two goals and two assists as Deering (5-4) won at Gorham.

Deering goalie John DeLoach finished with 14 saves and also scored a goal.

Anthony Coppola led Gorham (3-6) with three goals and one assist.

WESTBROOK 9, WINDHAM 8: Sam Carroll scored in the first minute of overtime after Ben Grant got the equalizer with two minutes left in regulation as the Blue Blazes (5-3) rallied past the Eagles (3-5) at Windham.

Carroll, Grant and Nick Trembley finished with three goals apiece for Westbrook.

Windham was led by Christian Zwirner and Griffin Jacobson with two goals each.

THORNTON ACADEMY 17, BIDDEFORD 4: Josh Cyr had four goals and two assists, and the Trojans (6-3) unleashed a 10-player scoring onslaught against Biddeford (0-8) in Saco.

Taylor Browne added three goals and an assist, Aaron Sinclair also scored three times, and Cody Falton had a goal and three assists.

GREELY 13, FREEPORT 3: Tim Adams scored four goals, Brendan Trelegan added three goals and three assists, and the Rangers (6-3) handled the Falcons (0-7) at Cumberland.

Calvin Stroud and Gabe Belisle each had two goals. Jack Rotundi, Brooks Belisle and Cassidy Jeffers also scored.

Sam Logan, Clay Morris and Galen Simmons scored for Freeport.

CHEVERUS 17, PORTLAND 4: Jack Sutton scored five goals and assisted on two others as the Stags (7-2) cruised to a win over the Bulldogs (1-9) at Chev-erus.

Nick Schleh added four goals and Tom Lawson scored three.

MARSHWOOD 12, NOBLE 2: Drew Hale tallied six times while leading the Hawks (8-3) past the Knights (0-9) in South Berwick.

Matt Scremin added three goals and an assist, and Sam Woodman had two goals and an assist.
