WESTBROOK – The South Portland softball team survived an upset try from Westbrook on Friday. The Red Riots can thank Danica Gleason for some of that. Gleason went 4 for 4 with two doubles, a triple and two RBI to lead South Portland (11-2) past Westbrook (6-6).

Gleason doubled in Erin Bogdanovich with the go-ahead run in the fifth. Bogdanovich pitched a five-hitter for the win, fanning nine and walking none.

Amberly Delponte went 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Blue Blazes.

CAPE ELIZABETH 6, WELLS 4: Shannon Nicholson hit an RBI single in the top of the eighth inning as the Capers (12-0) scored a pair of runs to edge the Warriors (7-6) at Wells.

Ashley Tinsman hit a solo homer for the Capers and Nicholson, Emma O’Rourke and Tess Haller finished with two hits apiece.

Maddie Taylor and Monica Link each hit RBI singles during a three-run fifth inning for Wells that tied the game at 4-4.

FALMOUTH 23, TRAIP 6: Julia Treadwell went 2 for 2 and drove in five runs to lead the Yachtsmen (6-5) over Traip Academy (2-8) at Falmouth in five innings.

Jessica Collins drove home four runs for Falmouth, also on two hits. Amanda Carver pitched four scoreless inning for the win, striking out three and giving up no walks.

BONNY EAGLE 13, CHEVERUS 2: Freshman Breanna Lifland had three hits and drove in five runs to lead Bonny Eagle (8-4-1) over host Cheverus (6-6).

Rebecca Howell added three RBI on three hits and pitcher Erica Sullivan gave up five hits and struck out four to earn the win.

SANFORD 15, DEERING 1: Sam Adams hit a three-run homer in the top of the first and pitched a two-hitter to lead Sanford (7-5) over host Deering (0-13). Adams struck out 10.

SCARBOROUGH 11, MARSHWOOD 2: Marisa O’Toole went 3-for-5 with two homers and three RBI as the Red Storm (11-1) cruised past the Hawks (7-4-1) at South Berwick.

Grace Farnkoff added three hits, one RBI and one run for the Red Storm and Brenna Kent hit a two-run single.

Scarborough starter Alyssa Williamson pitched a four-hitter to earn the win.

WINDHAM 6, GORHAM 5: Sadie Nelson singled, stole second and scored on a double by Maddie Elliott in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Eagles (5-7) over the Rams (4-8) at Windham.

Elliott and Miranda Richards finished with three hits apiece for Windham and Morgan Richmond added a pair of doubles.

Gorham took advantage of three errors to tie the game with two runs in the top of the seventh.

BANGOR 20, MT. ARARAT 9: Carly Cosgrove drove in the eventual winning run with a grand slam in the third inning as the Rams (8-5) pulled away from the Eagles (4-9) at Topsham.

Sydni Cosgrove and Lilli Wiseman had four hits apiece for Bangor and Morgan Campbell and Eve George each drove in three runs during a seven-run second inning.

Taylor Pare hit a three-run double during a six-run second inning for Mt. Ararat, which led 9-7 after two innings.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 8, NOKOMIS 6: Amanda Hendrickson hit a three-run homer and a two-run single and Abby Maguire added three hits and two RBI to lead the Panthers (9-3) past the Warriors (9-4) at Newport.

LINCOLN ACADEMY 9, MAINE CENTRAL INSTITUTE 0: Abby Farrin struck out four batters and walked one while throwing a four-hitter and also had two hits and drove in a run to lead the Eagles (8-4) past the Huskies (7-5) at Newcastle.

Morgan Achorn homered and finished with four RBI and two runs scored for Lincoln and Hayden Campbell added three hits with an RBI and a run scored.

NOBLE 14, McAULEY 0: Katie Taylor had four hits, including a three-run homer, as Noble (9-3) defeated host McAuley (1-12) in six innings.

Amber Kelly struck out seven and gave up three hits for the shutout.

MT. ABRAM 17, BOOTHBAY 0: Taylor Jordan pitched a no-hitter and Jill Howard had three RBIs as the Roadrunners beat the Seahawks in an MVC game shortened to five innings.

Howard had two hits and made a great catch to preserve the no-hitter for Mt. Abram (5-6). Jordan struck out two and added two hits and two RBI.

SKOWHEGAN 17, BRUNSWICK 0: Shelby Orbert had a triple and a single as the Indians beat the Dragons in a KVAC A game in Skowhegan.

CONY 3, MESSALONSKEE 2: The Rams rallied for three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to pull out the KVAC Class A win in Augusta. The Eagles scored twice in the top of the ninth. They loaded the bases on a walk and singles from Nikki and Delaney Collier and scored two runs on an infield error.

CAPE ELIZABETH 14, GREELY 9: Hannah Newhall and Tally Perkins scored four goals apiece to lead the Capers (6-3) past the visiting Rangers (7-2).

Lauren Steidl added three goals for Cape Elizabeth.

Etta Copenhagen and Cameron Keefe each scored three times for Greely.

MASSABESIC 12, THORNTON ACADEMY 2: Heather Everett scored four goals and Rayne Whitten had three as the Mustangs (6-3) rolled past the Golden Trojans (6-3) at Saco.

WINDHAM 8, SOUTH PORTLAND 6: Christina Pollard, Sam Greenlaw, and Luisa Sarbadella scored two goals apiece to help Windham (5-4) nip the Red Riots (4-4) at South Portland.

Lani Edwards was the high scorer for South Portland with three goals and two assists. Abby Letourneau added two goals and goalie Lily Sangiovanni helped the Red Riots keep it close with 19 saves.

NORTH YARMOUTH 17, FRYEBURG 5: Olivia Madore had four goals and two assists to pace North Yarmouth Academy (2-7) in a win over Fryeburg Academy (1-8) at Yarmouth.

The Raiders scored the first goal, but the Panthers took over and finished the first half leading 12-2.

Mary Noyes and Alex Wahlstom added three goals apiece for NYA. Kendra Fox provided four of Fryeburg’s five goals.

BONNY EAGLE 5, DEERING 3: Hannah Litif scored three goals to help Bonny Eagle (4-5) get past host Deering (3-6). Deering goalie Lilly Worthly had eight saves. Bonny Eagle’s Abby Ward stopped 10.
