LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Clippers and Boston Celtics resumed talks Monday on a mega-deal that would send Coach Doc Rivers and Kevin Garnett to L.A., said several NBA executives who were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

The two teams have also discussed how forward Paul Pierce can be in the deal, the executives said.

But nothing has been consummated yet, as both sides continue to haggle over how to get the deal done.

The Clippers remain willing to send center DeAndre Jordan and at least one No. 1 pick to the Celtics for the rights to sign Rivers to a contract and to get Garnett, who will waive his no-trade clause, one executive said.

Eric Bledsoe is not in the deal, an executive said.

The Clippers will wait for the Celtics to buy Pierce out of his $15.3 million contract for $5 million, which has to happen by the end of this month, the executives said.

If that happens, the Clippers will look to sign Pierce so he can join Rivers and Garnett, who has two years and $24.4 million left on his deal, in L.A., the executive said.

Rivers earns $7 million per season on a deal that has three years left.

NUGGETS: Denver hired Tim Connelly as executive vice president of basketball operations.

BUCKS: Milwaukee announced that Bob Bender and Nick Van Exel will be assistants on Larry Drew’s staff. Bender also was an assistant during Drew’s three years as head coach in Atlanta, while Van Exel was the Hawks’ player development instructor from 2010-12.

KINGS: Pete D’Alessandro has wanted a leading role in professional basketball since his father first took him to watch Julius Erving and the old New York Nets on Long Island in the 1970s.

On his 45th birthday, that wish finally came true.

Sacramento formally introduced D’Alessandro as the team’s new general manager, handing over basketball operations to the former Denver and Golden State executive who has spent a lifetime waiting for such an opportunity.

He joins Coach Mike Malone, hired just two weeks ago by new owner Vivek Ranadive, who said D’Alessandro emerged from the “long and arduous process” of finding a GM as the clear candidate.

After interviewing D’Alessandro late last week, Ranadive sought the advice of Chris Mullin. The former Warriors All-Star and GM — whom D’Alessandro worked under from 2004-08 in Golden State’s front office and is likely to take an official consultant role with the Kings soon — left Ranadive convinced.

ALLEN IVERSON is being accused by his ex-wife, Tawanna Iverson, of abducting his own children, according to several media reports. The website TMZ first reported the story.

Tawanna Iverson filed court documents in Atlanta claiming that her ex-husband failed to return their five children, who range in age from age 3 to 16, after a five-day vacation to Charlotte, N.C.

Iverson is fighting the allegations in court, TMZ reported.

Iverson did not return them on May 26, she said. Tawanna said she tried to set up an exchange at a neutral site on June 4, but Iverson never showed up.

Tawanna Iverson, who has sole custody of the children, wants the courts to force him to bring them back. She contends that Iverson never went to North Carolina and has the children staying at a hotel in Georgia.
