Successful schools will share tips at August conference

Successful school districts in New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont are sharing pointers at a conference in August. They’ve been chosen by the Peers Sharing Success organization, founded by educator Nancy Childress. Her father illustrated the 1960s edition Sally, Dick and Jane reading primers and she was the model for “Sally.”

The districts have made advances in student academic achievement on the NECAP test and will discuss their strategies.

Keynote speakers are Vermont Secretary of Education Armando Vilaseca and Barbara Moody, president of Learning Forward New England.

The first 100 participants who register by July 1 will receive a never-before-released print of a “Sally, Dick and Jane” sketch.
