OLD ORCHARD BEACH – An Old Orchard Beach bar will host a fundraiser Sunday to benefit Boston Marathon bombing victim Karen Rand.

Rand, who is a former Westbrook resident, lost a leg in the bombing. There is a movement underway to build Rand – who had been living in Boston – a handicapped accessible home in Old Orchard Beach.

Mal Mango, who is helping to organize Sunday’s fundraiser, said it will be from 1-5 p.m. at The Brunswick on West Grand Avenue.

Mango said the owner of the bar, Tom Lacasse, decided to open up the beachfront venue to help Rand recover from the tragedy. Rand is currently living with a relative in Maine.

“Karen is Boston Strong” t-shirts will be sold at the event, and there will be a raffle, auction and live music.

Rand was cheering on her boyfriend with her best friend Krystle Campbell when one of the bombs exploded. Rand lost a leg, and Campbell was killed.
