Dwight Howard said Friday night that he’ll be signing with the Houston Rockets.

The All-Star center posted a message on Twitter saying he thought Houston was “the best place for me.”

“I am excited about joining the Rockets and I’m looking forward to a great season,” he added.

The Los Angeles Lakers confirmed earlier Friday that Howard would be leaving after one season.

“We wish him the best of luck on the remainder of his NBA career,” General Manager Mitch Kupchak said in a statement.

WARRIORS: Golden State reached an agreement with swingman Andre Iguodala on a $48 million, four-year deal.

The Warriors cleared more than $24 million in salary-cap space by sending Richard Jefferson, Andris Biedrins and Brandon Rush to Utah with unspecified draft picks.

The Warriors were only taking back Kevin Murphy and his non-guaranteed $788,000 deal for next season.

The complicated moves give the rejuvenated franchise, fresh off an appearance in the second round of the playoffs and with a stockpile of promising young talent, a potent scorer and perimeter defender to team with point guard Stephen Curry.

MAVERICKS: Dallas and free-agent point guard Jose Calderon have an agreement on a four-year, $28 million contract.

A starting point guard was the top priority for Dallas.

Calderon spent his first seven years with Toronto before the Raptors traded him to Detroit in January.

BOBCATS: Free-agent forward Josh McRoberts agreed to a two-year, $5.5 million deal to remain with Charlotte.

The second year of the deal includes a player option.

McRoberts outperformed expectations last season after being acquired from Orlando for Hakim Warrick in February just hours before the trade deadline.

McRoberts wound up starting 19 games and averaged 9.3 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 26 games for Charlotte. He also shot a career-best 50.5 percent from the field.

THREE-TEAM TRADE: New Orleans, Portland and Sacramento agreed to a three-team trade sending guard Tyreke Evans to the Pelicans, center Robin Lopez to the Trail Blazers and guard Greivis Vasquez to the Kings.

Portland sent second-round draft pick Jeff Withey to New Orleans and a future draft pick to Sacramento as part of the deal. The trade also sent guard Terrel Harris to Portland.

Evans, a former rookie of the year and restricted free agent, averaged 15.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists with the Kings last season, his fourth. At 6-foot-6, he has demonstrated the versatility to play either guard position, or even small forward when matchups favor it.

76ERS-ROCKETS: Philadelphia acquired the rights to Houston forward Royce White.

The 76ers also acquired the rights to 2012 draft pick Furkan Aldemir. The Sixers will send Houston future considerations.

White was a first-round pick (16th overall) last summer and never played for the Rockets. The 6-foot-8 White was on the inactive list as he worked on an arrangement with the team to balance his acknowledged anxiety disorder with the demands of the NBA schedule.

White was vocal on Twitter throughout the saga, often criticizing the team. The Rockets suspended White on Jan. 6 after he refused to accept an assignment to Rio Grande Valley in the D-League.
