ROCKLAND – Katy Verreault pitched a two-hitter and drove in two runs to lead Scarborough to its second-straight Little League softball state championship with a 2-1 victory Friday over Kennebunk.

Verreault finished with seven strikeouts. She gave her team a 2-0 lead with a two-run triple in the third inning as Scarborough finished unbeaten in the double-elimination tournament for 11- and 12-year-olds.

Bailey Cain allowed just three hits while striking out seven and drove in the only run for Kennebunk.

Scarborough advances to the East Regional starting Friday in Bristol, Conn.

MYSTIC 4, SANFORD 3: Adam Touhey scored on a fielder’s choice in the 11th inning as the Mystic Schooners (14-11) edged the Sanford Mainers (11-14) at Goodall Park.

Anthony Papio, Nic Wilson Connor Castellano each had an RBI single for Sanford.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH, SEACOAST SPLIT: Enrique Sosa and Tyler Pogmore combined on a two-hitter as the Raging Tide (13-15) secured a split with a 3-1 win after and 8-2 loss in the completion of a suspended game at Old Orchard Beach.

TWILIGHT LEAGUE

AERO HEATING 4, YANKEE FORD 3: Ryan Curit tied the game with an RBI single in the fifth inning and Alex Brown drove in the go-ahead run with a groundout as Aero Heating (3-6-1) edged Yankee Ford (5-5) at St. Joseph’s College.

Charlie Partridge drove in all three runs for Yankee Ford.

AMERICAN LEGION

MORRILL SWEEPS FALMOUTH: Nick Whitten hit two home runs and Robert Graff belted a three-run homer as Morrill Post (4-9) started a doubleheader sweep with a 13-1 win at Falmouth.

Falmouth erased a 4-2 deficit in Game 2, but Dylan Farrell-Reny’s sacrifice fly in the fifth inning drove in Zach Marles with the go-ahead run in a 7-5 victory for Morrill.

BRISTOL SEAFOOD SWEEPS FIRST TITLE: Will Barlock drove in three runs and Bristol Seafood (6-5) scored all its runs in the final three innings to complete a doubleheader sweep with a 12-5 win at Cheverus High.

Dominic Bernard had three hits and four RBI in the opener, a 6-5 Bristol Seafood win.

Drew Ferrick drove in all five runs for First Title (2-11) in the second game.

JUNIOR LEGION

CAPE ELIZABETH 6, SACO-BIDDEFORD SAVINGS 5: Matt Dennison belted a three-run double in the sixth inning as Cape Elizabeth (7-6) beat Saco-Biddeford Savings (7-6) in Biddeford.

Kerry Crepeau led Biddeford with three hits and three runs scored. Jason Vadnais and Eamon Smith each had two RBI.

CUMBERLAND 5, SOUTH PORTLAND 3: Jordan Bagshaw drove in two runs and Ryan Twitchell took a no-hitter into the fifth as Cumberland (4-8) won at South Portland (7-6).
