YORK — York police have charged two brothers with burglarizing the Fun-O-Rama arcade in York Beach.

Joseph Cahill, 25, and Joshua Cahill, 24, both of York, allegedly broke into the popular arcade on July 22. Police were alerted to the burglary by a security alarm around 11:30 p.m. and arrived to find the rear door smashed, police said.

Witnesses told police they saw people flee the building in a silver Chrysler PT Cruiser with New Hampshire license plates moments after the alarm sounded.

The Cahills were arrested Wednesday after police identified them as suspects using surveillance videos. The brothers are each known to drive the PT Cruiser, according to police.

A search of their home on York Street turned up items stolen during vehicle burglaries throughout town this summer, according to police. Police also found narcotic paraphernalia, including needles, pipes, spoons and steel wool.

Police are investigating other burglaries they believe the Cahills were involved in and anticipate filing additional charges.

The Cahills are both in custody at York County Jail. Bail for each has been set at $500.
