FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Starting cornerback Alfonzo Dennard practiced Friday with the New England Patriots but declined comment on his arrest for drunken driving.

Dennard participated in the team’s first training-camp practice, playing on both the first-team and second-team defenses.

But Dennard, a second-year pro, wouldn’t discuss his arrest July 11 in Lincoln, Neb., where he played college football for Nebraska.

“I’m not trying to talk about that right now,” he said. “I’m just happy to be back on the field, a great opportunity.”

BENGALS: An MRI found that All-Pro receiver A.J. Green has a bruised knee that will force him to miss several days of practice.

Green hurt his left knee near the end of Cincinnati’s first practice of training camp Thursday, overextending it as he tried to make a sideline catch. Green said an MRI found no structural damage.

VIKINGS: Minnesota placed receiver Greg Childs on the physically unable to perform list to start training camp.

At practice, Childs did conditioning drills off to the side under the supervision of an athletic trainer. Childs is recovering from torn patellar tendons in each knee, a gruesome injury suffered early in training camp last year, ending his rookie season before it began.

REDSKINS: Jarvis Jenkins became the eighth Washington player to receive an NFL drugs-related suspension in 22 months, sanctioned for four games without pay for testing positive for a banned performance-enhancing substance.

Expected to start at defensive end, Jenkins instead will miss the first four games of the regular season. He will be eligible to return to the active roster Sept. 30 following the Week 4 game against Oakland.

Backup linebacker Keenan Robinson tore his left pectoral muscle during practice.

RAVENS: Offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie joined his teammates on the field after missing the first day of training camp for being overweight.

But McKinnie didn’t make it to the end of the 2½-hour workout, which took place under sunny skies at the team’s training complex.

CHIEFS: Kansas City agreed to terms with the No. 1 overall pick, right tackle Eric Fisher of Central Michigan, ensuring he’ll be in training camp with plenty of time to prepare for the season.

The deal is in the $22 million range, which puts it on par with the two previous No. 1 picks to have been signed since the NFL instituted a new rookie wage scale with the most recent collective-bargaining agreement.

JETS: Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith had solid performances on the first day of training camp as they compete to be the starting quarterback.

Sanchez led the first-team offense and it’s expected the two will alternate throughout camp, as they did during offseason practices. Sanchez is trying to keep his job as he enters his fifth season, and Smith hopes to start as a rookie after being drafted in the second round.

Cornerback Aaron Berry will miss the season after injuring a knee on the first day of practice at training camp.

Receiver Santonio Holmes said he “can’t answer” whether he will be able to return to the field this season as he recovers from a serious foot injury.

PACKERS: Cornerback Casey Hayward, who led NFL rookies last season with a team-high six interceptions, may miss two weeks of training camp because of a hamstring injury.

Coach Mike McCarthy said Hayward suffered the injury while training on his own before coming in to camp. Hayward walked the sideline while his teammates went through practice.

GIANTS: New York signed former Rutgers fullback Ryan D’Imperio and waived place-kicker David Buehler.

D’Imperio appeared in two preseason games last year with Kansas City before being waived.
