PELHAM, N.H. — West Nile virus has shown up in New Hampshire for the first time this year, in two mosquito pools in Pelham.

WMUR-TV reports that the town will be spraying all of its parks, schools, playgrounds and athletic schools. Officials also are warning residents to wear long sleeves and use insect repellent containing DEET after dusk.

There was one human case of West Nile virus in New Hampshire last year. Three animals tested positive for Eastern equine encephalitis, but there were no human cases.
