PORTLAND – Anthony Ranaudo, the sixth-ranked pitching prospect for the Boston Red Sox, has been promoted from the Portland Sea Dogs to the Triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox.
Ranaudo, a right-hander, will make his Triple-A debut Monday at Buffalo. He was 8-5 in 19 starts for the Sea Dogs, with a 2.90 Earned Run Average, the third-best in the Eastern League. In 28 Double-A starts for Portland, Ranaudo went 9-7 with a 3.91 ERA.

He ranks as the 14th overall best prospect in the Boston farm system. He tied a Sea Dogs’ record with 13 strikeouts in a June 13 game against Erie at Hadlock Field.
He is the 13th Sea Dogs player promoted to Pawtucket this season.
To replace Ranaudo, the Sea Dogs will receive left-hander Chris Hernandez from Pawtucket.
Hernandez, drafted in the seventh round by the Red Sox in 2010 out of Miami, was 3-9 with a 5.72 ERA for the PawSox.
Hernandez made 18 starts for the Sea Dogs in 2012, going 4-8 with a 3.18 ERA.
