AMHERST — Maine authorities say they have made a big heroin bust in Hancock County.

Maine State Police say drug agents arrested two men – 48-year-old James Storey of Baileyville and 28-year-old Dustin White of East Machias – early Wednesday morning after a car chase. Police searched the vehicle and say they found more than $3,600 in cash and $8,000 worth of heroin on the side of the road that they believe was tossed out during the chase.

Police say they got a tip that Storey might be traveling out of state to get a large quantity of the drug and return the same day.

Storey was being held on $5,000 bail while White posted bail Wednesday morning. It was unclear if either man was being represented by a lawyer.
