CHESTERVILLE — A New Hampshire man convicted of murder and burglary was arrested in Chesterville Wednesday and charged with violating a condition of release.
The man, Barry Brown, 50, was staying at a residence on Horseshoe Pond Road without permission from his parole officer to move residences, according to a press release from Franklin County Sheriff Scott Nichols.
Nichols said the sheriff’s department learned he was at the residence from Brown’s parole officer, Troy Sterry.
Sterry was in the process of approving Brown’s request to move to Chestervile, but he said Brown moved before Sterry conducted a site review and approved the request.
Nichols said Sterry, Lt. David St. Laurent and Detective Stephen Charles took Brown into custody at the residence without incident.
Brown was arrested on the charge of violation of interstate compact for adult supervision, which is a class D crime.
