MANCHESTER, N.H. — Manchester police say they’ve arrested five people in the largest drug bust in the city’s history and in recent New Hampshire history.

Police Chief David Mara says the SWAT team executed a search warrant Wednesday on a small car garage on Silver Street that netted three arrests and 100 grams of heroin.

While they were at the garage, police learned of a shipment of drugs coming in from Lawrence, Mass. Mara says the three occupants of the garage were in transit when two people arrived in a vehicle containing 200 grams of heroin and nearly 30 grams of cocaine.

Some of the drugs were stored at the feet of a 6-year-old child in the car.

Police say they also seized nearly $11,000.

All five defendants were due in court Thursday.
