Navy Midshipmen Michael J. Kenyon and Alexandra D. Lynch have recently completed basic midshipman training at the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. Kenyon is the son of Diana and Edward Kenyon of Brunswick. He is a 2013 graduate of Brunswick High School. Lynch is the daughter of Denise and Daniel Lynch of Topsham.

Army National Guard Pvt. Peter J. Copeland has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is a 2006 graduate of Grace Baptist High School, Portland.

Col. Dan Leclair of Minot has been named commander of the Civil Air Patrol’s nine-state Northeast Region. A former Maine Wing commander, Leclair succeeds Col. Chris Hayden, another former Maine Wing commander. Leclair enlisted in 1972 and served with the 13th Air Force Special Security Office at Clark Air Base, Republic of the Philippines and with the 3250th Technical Training Wing at Lackland before an assignment with the White House Communications Agency in Washington, D.C., in the White House Presidential Communications Center. Leclair retired from the Air Force in 1992 and returned to Maine in 2000 when he joined the Civil Air Patrol and served in the 77th Composite Squadron.

Fully Developed Claims Program workshop, 9 a.m. to noon on Sept. 11, hosted by the Togus Veterans Affairs Regional Office, offers training to those that serve, treat or otherwise interact with veterans and their families on a regular basis. The program helps veterans complete claims in about half the time of traditional claims. The workshop will be held at Togus VAMC, Bldg. 210 Theater, Augusta.
