BIDDEFORD – Jackie Dickerson scored in the first half and Margaret Palmer added a goal in the final five minutes Wednesday to help the University of New England to a 2-0 victory against St. Joseph’s in a women’s college soccer game.

Gina Iannazzi made four saves in the shutout for the Nor’Easters (1-1). Jaci Lorenzen made nine stops for the Monks (2-1).

MEN’S SOCCER

UNE 11, FISHER 1: Tyler Garnick and Jordan Storti scored three goals apiece for the Nor’easters (1-0-1), who used nine second-half goals to blow out the Falcons (0-1) at Biddeford.

Jeremy Hill scored twice and Finn Ducker had three assists.

BRIDGTON ACADEMY 4, SMCC 2: Connor Reagan scored twice in the first 16 minutes to help Bridgton Academy (1-0) down Southern Maine Community College (1-1) at South Portland.

Patrick Glass added a goal that gave Bridgton a 3-0 edge at halftime. The Seawolves opened the second half with a goal from Kyle Stiefken in the 47th minute. Eric Miller made it 4-1 in the 65th minute and Stiefken scored a second unassisted goal with 12 minutes remaining.

THOMAS 3, ST. JOSEPH’S 2: Paul Rechishi scored with 6:08 left as Thomas (2-1-0) edged St. Joseph’s (0-2-1) at Standish.

Freshman Yanni Rakis scored both goals for the Monks.

BASEBALL

BRIDGTON ACADEMY 6, SMCC 3: The Wolverines scored three runs in the final three innings to drop the Seawolves in an opener at South Portland.
