WINDHAM – Liam Sullivan ran 31 times for 285 yards and two second-half touchdowns Friday night as Windham opened the high school football season with a 28-6 victory against Deering in an Eastern Class A game.

The Eagles led just 7-6 at halftime before putting the game away with a 21-0 advantage in the second half.

Griffin Jacobson had seven carries for 62 yards and two scores for Windham. Zach Davis added nine tackles with a sack, and Pat Leavitt had a second-quarter interception for the Eagles.

FALMOUTH 48, GORHAM 0: The Yachtsmen rolled up 48 points in the first half and went on to shut out Gorham at Falmouth.

Connor Aube rushed for three touchdowns, and Joe Goodrich accounted for eight points with five PATs and a 43-yard field goal.

Quarterback Noah Nelson ran for one touchdown and completed an 8-yard pass to Justin Rogers for another score.

MORSE 23, OCEANSIDE 16: James Laser ran six times for 85 yards and two touchdowns, Liam McDonough had 117 yards on 28 carries, and the Shipbuilders held on after taking a 17-0 lead at Rockland.

Matt Belanger scored a touchdown and Ethan Winglass kicked a 25-yard field goal in the first half for Morse.

Preston Spear had 120 all-purpose yards for the Mariners, including a 70-yard kickoff return for a score in the fourth quarter.

POLAND 6, LAKE REGION 0: Patrick Jacques scored on a 12-yard run in the first quarter for the Knights at Poland.

In the fourth quarter, Poland stopped Lake Region inside the 20, then ran out the final three minutes.

WELLS 44, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 13: Jake Moody had touchdown runs of 50 and 60 yards and also made an interception, helping the Warriors win at Rumford.

BOOTHBAY REGION 30, SACOPEE VALLEY 6: Jason Maddocks and Julian Aponte scored two touchdowns apiece for Boothbay at South Hiram.

MAINE CENTRAL INSTITUTE 41, ORONO 6: Jonathan Santiago rushed for four touchdowns and the Huskies’ first-team defense didn’t allow a point at Orono.

MT. VIEW 39, STEARNS 12: Steven Davis rushed for five touchdowns to lead the Mustangs at Millinocket.

MT. DESERT ISLAND 20, MADISON 14: Teegan Candage rushed for 260 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries to lead the Trojans at Bar Harbor.

OLD TOWN 24, NOKOMIS 12: Cody Whitmore rushed for two touchdowns and Braden Upshaw added a third for the Coyotes at Old Town.
