SCARBOROUGH — Haron Habibzai scored 29 minutes into the game and Dan Kane made nine saves to give Portland a 1-0 boys’ soccer win over Scarborough on Tuesday.

Portland is 2-0.

Sam Warren stopped five shots for the Red Storm (1-1).

CAPE ELIZABETH 0, YORK 0: Adam Legg made four saves for the Wildcats (1-0-1) and Austin Andrews two for Cape Elizabeth (0-0-1) during dual shutouts in York.

The Capers successfully defended three York corners, and the Wildcats faced a single corner by Cape.

WESTBROOK 5, BIDDEFORD 2: Owen Gillis had two goals and an assist, and Kaleb Kent added a goal and an assist as the Blue Blazes (2-0) downed the Tigers (0-2) at Westbrook.

Gillis scored the first goal of the second half unassisted and the final goal on a penalty kick after setting up Luther Williams.

Kent set up Varney Kai on the opening goal, then made it 2-0 after putting in a pass from Mohammed Al Kinani.

Garret Dube and Matt Nunez scored, and Joshua McCauley made 15 saves for Biddeford.

Austin Blake stopped nine shots in the win.

NOBLE 4, MARSHWOOD 3: Brandon Ford’s three goals led Noble (2-0) over the Hawks (0-2) in South Berwick.

Bailey Coull also scored for the Knights. Marshwood’s Ryan Gould, Hanssen Casey and Kyle Claus each had a goal.

GORHAM 5, BONNY EAGLE 2: Austin Bell had two goals, and Erik Andreasen a goal and two assists to lead the Rams (2-0) over the Scots (1-1) in Gorham.

Cody Elliott and Morgan Hader-Perry also scored for the Rams. James Patchell had a goal and an assist for the Scots, and Pradeep Buch the other goal.

Matt Bennett had six saves for Gorham. Zack Moody stopped eight shots for Bonny Eagle.

CHOP POINT 6, A.R. GOULD 2: Sam Stevens, Gable Stevens and Matias Areses each had two goals as the visiting Blue Bears (1-0) handled the Bears (0-1) at South Portland.

Cullen Cummings stopped four shots for Chop Point.

Chris Thomas had both goals and Dariyin Wolfe made 20 saves for A.R. Gould.

DEERING 3, MASSABESIC 0: Christian Castaneda, Matthew Alvarez and Quitaiba Hassoon scored for the Rams (2-0) against the visiting Mustangs (0-2) at Portland.

David Bujambi, Stephen Ochan and goalie Anthony Russo each had an assist.

WINDHAM 1, SANFORD 0: Christian Hewitt’s deflected shot early in the second half was the difference for the visiting Eagles (1-0) against the Spartans (0-2).

Tyler Connors made seven saves in the win. Tylar Burgess stopped 12 shots for Sanford.

SACOPEE VALLEY 3, FREEPORT 2: Justin Stacey’s goal 2:06 into sudden death gave the Hawks the victory over Falcons in a mutual opener in South Hiram.

Jack Reynolds took the ball down the right flank and pushed it to Stacey, who lined a hard shot over the outstretched fingers of Falcons goalie Brendan Qualls and just under the crossbar.

Matteo Pascucci and Devin Day also scored for the Hawks, and Ethan Roney and Zach Merrill scored for Freeport.

Michael Pingree stopped nine shots in goal for Sacopee, and Qualls six for Freeport.

SOUTH PORTLAND 4, THORNTON ACADEMY 2: Danny Fox broke a 2-2 deadlock 12 minutes into the second half and Cam Connor added a goal with seven minutes left as the Red Riots (1-1) pulled away from the Trojans (0-2) in Saco.

The Red Riots sandwiched goals by Robert Graff and Ahmed Suja around a goal by Thornton’s Eric Gooch to take a 2-1 lead into the break. However, Dalton Moore converted Gooch’s assist three minutes into the second half to tie the game.

Henry Curran finished with four saves for South Portland and Hayes Estrella five for Thornton.

MT. ABRAM 4, WISCASSET 1: The Roadrunners (1-1) scored four straight goals, including three in the second half, and Tristen Dyer stopped a penalty shot in beating the visiting Wolverines (0-1-1).

J.D. Souza scored in the first half to give Wiscasset the lead. Bryson Walker scored to tie it with 11:50 left in the first half, Calum Dixon scored two straight goals in the second half and Gerardo Rio added an insurance goal.

NYA 6, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 2: D.J. Nicholas had three goals and an assist to lead the visiting Panthers (2-0) over the Patriots (0-2) at Gray.

Jackson Cohan-Smith, Forrest Chicoine and Greyson Cohen also scored for the Panthers.
