An autopsy is under way this afternoon on the body of a young man pulled from the Kennebec River in the Pittston area overnight.
Maine State Police are trying to determine the identity of the person, who was seen floating in the river late Saturday and pulled out by law enforcement.
“We are checking missing-persons reports,” Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Department of Safety, said today.
McCausland said early this afternoon that the autopsy is being performed at the Office of the State Medical Examiner.
He said more information will be available following the autopsy.
