FREEPORT – Brian Lee hit a defender at the goal line and drove him back for a 3-yard touchdown run with 1:19 remaining as Freeport earned a 7-0 victory over Poland in a Western Class C football game Saturday afternoon.

Lee’s run capped a 38-yard drive keyed by David Schealder’s 17-yard run to the 3. Eric Wentworth added the extra point.

Outside linebackers Jake Perry and Ben MacMillian led the Freeport defense, while defensive end Chandler Harrison disrupted Poland’s passing game.

Freeport improved to 2-1. Poland is 1-2.

CHEVERUS 54, OXFORD HILLS 0: Joe Fitzpatrick rushed for three touchdowns and Cody O’Brien had two touchdown runs as the Stags (3-0) rolled past the Vikings (1-2) at Portland.

Liam LaFountain and Justin Johnston also rushed for touchdowns, and Zordan Holman scored on a pass from Ethan Jordan.

BANGOR 40, DEERING 13: Logan Lanham rushed for 180 yards and three touchdowns, and also caught a 50-yard pass for a score, leading Bangor (2-1) past visiting Deering (0-3).

Bangor led 14-13 midway through the third quarter before Ben Crichton returned an interception 25 yards for a touchdown. Bangor quarterback Xavier Lewis ran 37 yards for a score and threw the touchdown pass to Lanham, widening the lead to 34-13 two minutes into the fourth quarter.

Mike Marzilli threw a 74-yard option pass to Richard Delgado for a touchdown in the second quarter for Deering. Max Chabot added a 16-yard pass to Dominick Bernard for a third-quarter touchdown.

LISBON 40, BOOTHBAY 18: Quincy Thompson had touchdown runs of 71, 9 and 8 yards to lead the Greyhounds (2-1) to a victory over the Seahawks (2-1) in Lisbon Falls.

Jordan Torres added a 5-yard scoring run and rushed for five 2-point conversions. Joe Philbrick tacked on a 4-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.

Jason Maddocks scored on a 22-yard pass and a 15-yard run for the Seahawks. Julian Aponte had an 18-yard touchdown run.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 27, TELSTAR 14: Joe Gildard rushed 16 times for 172 yards and two touchdowns, and the Seagulls (2-1) overcame a 14-0 deficit to beat the Rebels (0-3) at Bethel.

Telstar got a 54-yard touchdown run from Chris Chappie in the first quarter and a 65-yard scoring run from Cameron Pike on the first play of the second half. But Gildard answered with his two scoring runs, including a 47-yarder followed by a conversion that put the Seagulls ahead 15-14 with 1:30 left in the third quarter.

Bryan Roberts added two fourth-quarter touchdowns, and Gildard made an interception to help seal the victory.

TRAIP ACADEMY 34, SACOPEE VALLEY 12: Matt Graham ran for two touchdowns, Joe Cavanagh returned an interception 65 yards for a score, and the Rangers (1-2) downed the Hawks (0-3) at Kittery.

Chris Czachor and Nick Ovington also ran for touchdowns for Traip, which led 16-0 at the half.
