SOUTH PORTLAND – Ayla Tartre got to a loose ball in front following a corner kick and pushed it into the net for the go-ahead goal late in the first half, lifting McAuley to a 3-2 win over South Portland in an SMAA girls’ soccer match Saturday.

All the scoring occurred in the first half. Tartre tallied all three goals for McAuley (2-3), and Jordyn Carr had 11 saves. Abby Young and Sam Munson scored for the Red Riots (0-5), while Emma Russell stopped eight shots.

FREEPORT 3, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0: Ashley Richardson’s goal midway through the first half started the Falcons (4-2) on their way to a triumph against Fryeburg (1-3) in Freeport.

Emily Morang received the ball on the wing and passed to Richardson running down the middle, and Richardson scored from 18 yards.

Brooke Heathco and Alyssa Richardson added second-half goals.

Livvy Dimick made five saves for Freeport. Sydney Charles had seven saves for the Raiders.

DEERING 3, NOBLE 0: Edie Pallozzi scored twice in the first half, including once on a penalty kick, and Ewa Varney added a goal midway through the second half as the Rams (3-1) beat the Knights (0-3) in North Berwick.

LeeAnn Downs had six saves for Deering. Kirsten Schussler stopped eight shots for Noble.

SCARBOROUGH 6, SANFORD 0: Hadlee Yescott’s four goals powered the Red Storm (3-0-1) past the Spartans (0-4) in Sanford.

Katherine Kirk scored the other two goals.

Aisling Tiernan had six saves in the first half for Sanford, and Kyla Bragg made seven saves in the second half.

FALMOUTH 1, KENNEBUNK 0: Mikey Richards intercepted Jill Rothweiler’s pass inside the circle and poked it into the net nine minutes into the game, propelling the Yachtsmen (5-1) to a victory over the Rams (3-3) in Kennebunk.

Hillary Nash made two saves for Falmouth. Liv Kudas blocked five shots for Kennebunk.

MT. ARARAT 3, HAMPDEN 0: Caitlin LaFountain scored twice on assists from Carly Raymond and Mt. Ararat (2-5) notched three second-half goals to beat the Broncos (0-5-1) in Hampden.

Kristen Pierce also scored.

LAWRENCE 1, OXFORD HILLS 0: Julia Lawrence scored early in the second half to lift the Bulldogs (6-1) to a win at Waterville.

Alexis Chamberlain assisted on the goal. Lawrence goalie Emily Tozier made four saves, and teammate Emily McLean had a defensive save.

Shannon Fillebrown made eight saves for Oxford Hills (5-2).

NOKOMIS 2, MT. VIEW 1: Freshman Olivia Brown took a pass from senior Drew Graves and scored in overtime as the Warriors (7-0) beat the Mustangs (4-3) at Newport.

Brown gave Nokomis a 1-0 lead early in the second half with an assist from Kayla Braley. Mt. View tied it with 9 minutes left in regulation when Reanna Bouley scored on a breakaway.

Kendra Underhill had five saves, including one on a breakaway in overtime, for Nokomis. Dinah Bilodeau made six saves for Mt. View.

WINSLOW 5, MARANACOOK 1: Sarah Wildes and Brooke Haskell scored two goals apiece to lead the Black Raiders (7-0) to a win in Readfield.

FRIDAY’S SOCCER GAME

BANGOR 2, BRUNSWICK 0: Eva George and Anna Morris scored first-half goals to lead the Rams (4-0) past the Dragons (2-3) at Bangor.

Emily Gilmore of Bangor and Haley Murano of Brunswick each made six saves.
