SCARBOROUGH – Kirsten Murray scored after 10 minutes and Maddy Dobecki added a goal with less than six minutes remaining Thursday night, leading undefeated Scarborough to a 2-0 victory against Westbrook in an SMAA field hockey game.

Abby Walker and Maggie Carbin provided assists, and Alyssa Sousa had to make three saves for the shutout for the Red Storm (8-0).

Nicole Miranda stopped 12 shots for Westbrook (5-4).

THORNTON ACADEMY 6, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: Katie Barden scored two goals in the final seven minutes as the Golden Trojans (6-3) downed the Red Riots (1-6) at South Portland.

After Lauren Russell, Libby Pomerleau and Jackie Parent scored for a 3-0 halftime lead, Carli Legere and Barden added second-half goals.

Gabrielle Capozzi and Isabella Capozzi split time in net for Thornton, with Isabella Capozzi making the sole save. Hannah Gato had 21 saves for South Portland.

MARSHWOOD 3, DEERING 0: First-half goals by Lindsey Poirier and Ashley Hickey set the Hawks (7-2) en route to victory against Deering (1-6-1) at South Berwick.

Karissa Boesch converted Elaine Bachelder’s assist for the only goal of the second half for Marshwood.

MT. BLUE 6, BRUNSWICK 0: Victoria Newbill scored two of the six first-half goals as Mt. Blue (6-3) beat Brunswick (1-7) at Farmington.

GORHAM 3, WINDHAM 1: Reagan Emerson scored off Andrea Stemm’s corner eight minutes into the game. She added a goal off a rebound and Delaney Shiers followed with another put-back of a rebound to give Gorham (4-4-1) a 3-0 halftime lead against the Eagles (3-5) at Windham.

Erin Malloy scored from Morgan Richmond in the opening minutes of the second half for Windham.

Megan Baker made three saves for the Rams and Tyra Boucher had 12 for the Eagles.

MT. ARARAT 3, LEWISTON 0: Caitlin LaFountain had two goals and Carly Raymond two assists as the Eagles (4-5) beat Lewiston (2-6) at Topsham.

Eva Jerome also scored and Alyssa Curit had an assist for Mt. Ararat.

Nellie Hetherington, with six saves, was the winning goalie. Kaylyn Labonte had nine saves for the Blue Devils.

MESSALONSKEE 8, EDWARD LITTLE 0: Emily Hogan and Mikayla Turner each scored twice to lead the Eagles (8-1) over Edward Little (0-8) at Auburn.

Nathalie St. Pierre, Kassi Michaud, Sydney Gagne, Erin Field and Brooke Quirion also scored.

Karli Stubbs had 25 saves for Edward Little.

YORK 4, KENNEBUNK 1: Sierra Swasey scored the tiebreaking goal 10 minutes into the second half, and Maddie Amidon and Charlotte Reilly added scores as York (3-3-1) pulled away from the Rams (2-4-1) at Kennebunk.

Kendall Carr scored for the Wildcats and Sarah Thill for Kennebunk in the first half.

Kyra Schwartzman of Kennebunk and Emma Rohrer of York made 12 saves each.

WELLS 7, TRAIP ACADEMY 2: Sophie Lamb had four goals and an assist to lead the Warriors (4-3-1) over Traip Academy (2-5) at Wells.

Amanda Deshaies scored twice and Maddie Taylor once for Wells.

ERSKINE ACADEMY 3, MEDOMAK VALLEY 0: Jade Canak scored twice in the second half and Cassandra Ray stopped all four shots she faced as the Eagles (5-2) cruised past Medomak Valley (1-5-1) at South China.

Michaela Sprague scored in the first half for Erskine.

Chelsea Ripley had 11 saves for the Panthers.

VOLLEYBALL

FALMOUTH 3, CHEVERUS 0: Katrina Meserve had 12 kills and 12 digs as the Yachtsmen (6-0) swept Cheverus (4-3) at Falmouth, 25-4, 25-12, 25-17.

Riley Burfeind served for 13 points, including five aces with four kills and eight digs for Falmouth.

Meagan Tammaro added four aces and 24 assists.
