SOUTH PORTLAND – Meaghan Wells and Edie Pallozzi scored in the opening minutes, and Deering went on to a 5-0 victory against South Portland in an SMAA schoolgirl soccer game Saturday.

Wells added a second-half goal, and Simone Lauture and Ewa Varney also scored for the Rams (6-1).

LeeAnn Downs made 10 saves for Deering. Emma Russell stopped 17 shots for South Portland (0-7).

SCARBOROUGH 9, MCAULEY 0: Hadlee Yescott finished with five goals and an assist, and Ashley Gleason collected four assists as the Red Storm (6-0-1) cruised past the Lions (2-5) at Scarborough.

Katherine Kirk added three assists, and Ashley Perriello had a goal and an assist.

Ainsley Jamieson and Aly Atherton also scored.

MESSALONSKEE 3, SKOWHEGAN 1: Kassadi McPherson scored all three goals and Taylor Easler had eight saves to lead the Eagles (3-4) over Skowhegan (0-7) at Oakland.

McKenna Brodeur and Mackenzie Anderson had assists for Messalonskee.

Michaela Lewia scored for Skowhegan.

MAINE CENTRAL INSTITUTE 1, BELFAST 0: Hannah Emery scored 1:50 into the game and the Huskies (2-5) made it stand against Belfast (0-8) at Pittsfield.

Hailey Stewart assisted on the goal and Riley Lord had seven saves for MCI.

Grace Davis made eight saves for the Lions.

VINALHAVEN 6, VALLEY 0: Sarah James scored three goals to lead the Vikings at Bingham.

Deja Doughty, Molly Foisy and Gilleyanne Oakes also scored, and Bailey Wadleigh had three saves.

Samantha West made seven saves for Valley.

YORK 4, FALMOUTH 0: Kathleen Cronin scored twice and assisted on a third goal as York (9-0) shut down the Yachtsmen (7-2) at Falmouth.

Taylor Simpson and Lily Posternak each had a goal and an assist for the Wildcats, who allowed only one shot on goalie Liv Golini.

Hillary Nash had five saves for Falmouth.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 8, WELLS 0: Olivia Madore scored twice in each half as the Panthers (6-1) downed Wells (2-4) at Yarmouth.

Madore also had three assists. Juliana Tardif scored three times and assisted on three others. Charlotte Eisenberg also scored.

Elizabeth Coughlin had six saves for NYA. Randi Albano finished with 10 saves for Wells.

WINDHAM 7, SANFORD 1: Morgan Richard finished with two goals and two assists as the Eagles (4-5) downed the Spartans (3-6) at Sanford.

Hannah Skvorak added two goals and one assist, and Matti Marcello, Lauren Doering and Katrina Cogswell also scored for Windham.

Sanford took an early 1-0 lead when Tally Brown scored from Allison L’Heureux.

GORHAM 3, MT. DESERT ISLAND 1: Charlene Landry finished with four aces, seven points, seven digs and 13 assists to lead the Rams (4-5) past the Trojans (5-2) at Gorham.

Hallye Anderson added three aces, 14 points, four blocks and five kills, and Samantha Robinson had seven points, 18 serve receives and 22 digs for Gorham.

Sarah Phelps had 14 kills, seven aces and seven digs for Mt. Desert.

GREELY 3, ELLSWORTH 0: Jordynne Copp served five aces and also had 12 kills as Greely (7-1) beat Ellsworth (6-2) in straight games (25-19, 25-17, 25-23) during a meeting of once-beaten teams at Cumberland.

Kayley Cimino had four aces and a kill, Alex Tebbs added an ace and six kills, and Emily Warnock had five kills for the Rangers. Cimino added 13 set assists.

YARMOUTH 3, WASHINGTON ACADEMY 1: Hannah Elrick finished with eight kills, Kenzie Sheehan recorded six aces and Maddy Maierhofer added 22 digs as the Clippers (5-1) downed the Raiders (5-2) in their first match of the day at Yarmouth.

Emily Lobley had nine assists and Kassidy Seeley added eight kills for the Raiders.

YARMOUTH 3, MACHIAS 1: Grace Mallett had 24 assists and five aces, and Abby Latham added five kills to lead the Clippers (6-1) in their second match of the day at Yarmouth.

Angleana Lyons led the Bulldogs (5-3) with 15 kills and 10 digs.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY SWEEPS: Charlotte Escancy had two aces and three kills to help the Panthers beat Washington Academy (25-17, 25-22, 25-14) in Yarmouth.

Adela McVicar had two kills and Sohyun Jeon 17 receptions for NYA.

NYA also beat Machias in three games, 25-18, 25-16 and 25-14.
