STANDISH — Rachelle Messuri scored 10:16 into the game on the first of two assists from Meghan Williams, and St. Joseph’s College went on to a 3-0 victory over Rivier in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference field hockey game Saturday.

Kelsey Dumond added to the lead 4:38 into the second half, and Theresa Hendrix closed out the scoring for the Monks (8-0, 3-0 GNAC) in the final minute.

MAINE 4, UMASS-LOWELL 0: Holly Stewart, Fran Rowley and Jessica Skillings scored second-half goals as the Black Bears (5-4, 1-0 America East) pulled away from the River Hawks (1-7, 0-1) at Orono.

Annabelle Hamilton opened the scoring in the fifth minute on a penalty corner, assisted by Nicole Sevey and Becca Paradee.

Colby’s Annie Papadellis started the scoring 4:30 into the game.

SOUTHERN MAINE C.C. SWEEPS UM-FARMINGTON: Nathan Boyle allowed three hits over 61⁄3 innings in the opener and Adam Volkernick and Robbie Hamilton each hit a two-run single in the second game as the Seawolves (9-3) earned 7-3 and 7-5 wins.
