SACO – Libby Pomerleau and Carli Legere scored second-half goals to push Thornton Academy to a 2-0 win over Westbrook in an SMAA field hockey game Friday afternoon.

Pomerleau converted Kaitlin Hilton’s assist with 17:32 remaining. Legere flicked the ball in from the top of the circle for an insurance goal with a minute left. Saleena Boucher’s cross set up Legere’s goal.

Gabby Capozzi made two saves for the shutout as the Golden Trojans improved to 8-3. Nicole Miranda had eight saves for the Blue Blazes (6-5) and was assisted by Caitlyn Stearns with a defensive save.

MASSABESIC 2, GORHAM 1: Emma Desrochers’ second goal of the game, midway through the second half, propelled the Mustangs (9-1) past the Rams (5-5-1) in Waterboro.

Logan Provencher lifted the ball over the goalie and over to Desrochers to set up the winning goal.

Desrochers and Gorham’s Reagan Emerson scored in the first half.

Abby Greenleaf blocked three shots for Massabesic. Megan Baker had five saves for the Rams.

DEERING 2, NOBLE 1: Amanda LeMoult, planted at the far post, banged home a cross through the circle with 4:33 left as the Rams (3-7-1) beat the host Knights (1-10).

After a scoreless first half, Kaytlin DiBiase gave Deering a 1-0 lead before Jessica Philbrick tied it.

Sadie Rhinehardt made eight saves for Deering. Noble’s Bridgette Hills had 20 saves.

CHEVERUS 3, PORTLAND 1: Elyse Caiazzo scored three goals in the first 11 minutes, powering the Stags (8-2) to a win over host Portland (3-7).

Gabrielle Wagabaza scored in the final minute of the first half for the Bulldogs.

Libby DesRuisseaux had three saves for Cheverus. Gianna Gaudet made six saves for Portland.

BIDDEFORD 4, SOUTH PORTLAND 1: Charlotte White had a goal and an assist, and Alex Quigley, Mallory Mourmouras and Sophany Srey also scored for the visiting Tigers (7-4).

Mackenzie Hevey turned aside nine shots for Biddeford.

Kristina Salafia scored from Lydia Henderson, and Hannah Gato made four saves for the Red Riots (2-9).

SCARBOROUGH 4, BONNY EAGLE 0: Kristen Murray broke a scoreless tie 5:12 into the second half, sweeping in Sarah Huber’s feed into the circle as the Red Storm (11-0) won in Scarborough.

Maddy Dobecki, Kaitlin Prince and Anna Driscoll also scored.

Alyssa Souza did not face a shot in goal for Scarborough. Ashlyn Wintle had 17 saves for the Scots (4-5-2).

MARSHWOOD 7, WINDHAM 0: Lindsey Poirier’s three goals led the Hawks (8-3) to a victory over the Eagles (4-7) in South Berwick.

Claudia Folger, Abby Doyle, Jenna Kashmer and Karissa Boesch also scored.

HALL-DALE 1, BOOTHBAY 0: Shanay Gilbert scored 13 minutes into the game as the Bulldogs earned a win in Boothbay Harbor.

Molly French made seven saves for Hall-Dale (5-5-1), while Erica Eames had two saves for Boothbay (0-11).

WINTHROP 1, DIRIGO 1: Winthrop’s Emmah Spahr opened the scoring with an unassisted goal five minutes into the game, but Kelsey Wilson of Dirigo (5-5-1) answered midway through the first half as the Ramblers (9-1-1) and Cougars played to a tie in Dixfield.

NOKOMIS 2, WATERVILLE 1: Lindsay Whitney and Drew Graves scored as the Warriors beat the Panthers.
