NEW FACES

Meteorologist A.J. Burnett made his debut on WCSH-TV Channel 6 on Friday.

Burnett, a native of New England, has worked as an on-air meteorologist for more than a decade. He worked in Boston, at the FOX and ABC stations, as well as New England Cable News and WMUR-TV in New Hampshire. He is a member of the American Meteorological Society and holds the AMS Television Seal of Approval, given for excellence in broadcast meteorology.

Richard Elvidge and Christine Young were hired at Key Private Bank in Maine.

Elvidge, of Yarmouth, was named vice president and senior portfolio manager. Prior to joining Key, Elvidge was a senior portfolio manager with People’s United Bank.

Young, of Hollis, was named a trust officer.

Most recently, Young was senior trust administrator for R.M. Davis Inc.

Elvidge and Young will be located at the headquarters in One Canal Plaza in Portland.

Stephanie McBride of Rockport joined Allen Insurance and Financial as an account manager in the company’s voluntary benefits division.

McBride has more than 15 years of experience in business ownership and management, sales and human resources.

She will be based in Allen Insurance and Financial’s offices at 31 Chestnut St. in Camden.

Chris Barstow was named general manager of the Hampton Inn in Freeport.

Barstow will direct all areas of the hotel’s operations, including guest services, sales and marketing efforts and hotel administration.

Geoff Campbell joined Hebron Academy to work in its communications department.

Campbell recently completed his master’s degree from Syracuse’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. He will focus on digital media and Web design.

Dr. Sarah Gallo joined Martin’s Point Health Care as a family medicine physician.

Gallo’s practice also will include obstetrics and inpatient medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at Maine Medical Center in Portland. She is currently accepting new patients at Martin’s Point’s Gorham Health Care Center.

Laura Peterson joined Employee Benefits Solutions, a division of Holden Agency, as a project/productions manager.

Peterson previously worked as the benefits administration manager for Barber Foods/Advancepierre and its 4,000 associates nationwide.

PROMOTIONS

Lynn Tillotson was named president and chief executive officer of the Portland Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Tillotson replaces Barbara Whitten, who is stepping down as head of the organization after nearly 27 years of service.

Tillotson had served as director of tourism and marketing for the past 12 years. She will begin her new role Nov. 1.

Gray Cat Marketing and Design won an American Graphic Design Award in the brand identity category.

The firm was recognized for its work developing the logo, business cards and brochure for startup Liz’s Personal Chef Service.

Gray Cat Marketing & Design was started in 2009 by Alexandra Heseltine.

Joseph Carleton Jr., a Wells attorney, was admitted to the College of Community Association Lawyers.

Carleton is one of fewer than 150 attorneys nationwide to be admitted to the prestigious organization. He has condominium law practice, representing condominium associations, developers and individual condominium unit owners.

Wright-Pierce in Portland has earned the “Sponsor of the Year” award from New England Water Works Association.

The firm was recognized for its longtime support of the association through volunteer services, participation in committees and programs, and financial contributions that promote public health, safety and environmental stewardship of safe drinking water.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS

Sanford City Manager Steven Buck was elected to the board of trustees for Southern Maine Health Care.

Buck, of Sanford, has served on the board of directors for Cary Medical Center in Caribou for over 10 years. He became the city manager of Sanford in 2012, and previously served as city manager of Caribou for 11 years.

CERTIFICATIONS

Liz Bradford, owner of ENERJOY Health/Fitness Programs Inc. in Falmouth, was certified as a cardio tennis instructor by the Tennis Industry Association.

Bradford is an American Council on Exercise-certified professional, who teaches private and studio health and fitness classes in Falmouth.

Meredith Strang Burgess, former state representative and a cancer survivor, will lead the Maine Cancer Foundation’s 2013-14 fundraising campaign.
