Haron Habibzai scored in the first half and Stephan Berry in the second as Portland defeated Windham 2-0 in an SMAA schoolboy soccer game Thursday at Fitzpatrick Stadium.

Habibzai opened the scoring from Sam Farr after 11:29 for the Bulldogs (9-2-2) against the Eagles (3-7-3).

Barry added a goal midway through the second half from Yusef Yama.

Bobby Brittingham made four saves to record the shutout.

WESTBROOK 2, CHEVERUS 1: Kaleb Kent scored on a breakaway two minutes into overtime to lift the Blue Blazes (5-7-2) over the Stags (9-3-1) at Portland.

After Luther Williams gave Westbrook a 1-0 lead with seven minutes left in the half, James Biegel tied it from Brady Levesque with 15 minutes remaining in regulation.

Austin Blake finished with 10 saves for Westbrook. Ben Peterson stopped five shots for Cheverus.

GORHAM 2, MASSABESIC 1: Cole Houghton scored the go-ahead goal in the 69th minute, one minute after the Mustangs (2-10-1) tied the game, lifting the Rams (9-3-1) at Gorham.

Austin Bell gave the Rams the lead when he scored from Cody Elliott with 19:44 left in the first half. Dylan Pitts tied it in the 68th minute.

Matt Bennett made one save in the win. Andrew Wicklund finished with nine saves for the Mustangs.

POLAND 1, WELLS 0: After a scoreless first half, Kyle Radziszewski scored from Lukas Johnson as the Knights (3-8-2) clinched a playoff berth by beating the Warriors (3-11) at Poland.

Radziszewski collected a pass from Johnson off a free kick from 55 yards and chipped a shot over Wells keeper Chandler Bridge.

Bridge and Zack Lowe of Poland finished with five saves apiece.

NOBLE 2, SANFORD 0: Josh Emard scored twice in an early five-minute span and the Knights (10-2-1) held off the Spartans (2-9-2) at Sanford.

Drew Martin made 11 saves to record the shutout. Tyler Burgess finished with eight saves for Sanford.

ı Wyatt Omsberg and Chris Cowie scored in the final 1:30 of the first half as the Red Storm (12-1) pulled away from the Trojans (2-9-2) at Scarborough.

Josh Morrissey added a goal midway through the second half from Andrew Morrissey. Max Ornstein also had an assist.

Pat Stanton and Sam Warren combined to make seven saves for the shutout. Hayes Estrella stopped 12 shots for Thornton.

SOUTH PORTLAND 1, BONNY EAGLE 0: Ponnaray Men scored 3:23 into the game and Henry Curran stopped all six shots he faced as the Red Riots (7-5-1) held off the Scots (5-6-2) at South Portland.

Ponnaray scored on a rebound following an attempted clear of a corner kick.

Zach Moody finished with eight saves for the Scots.

BRUNSWICK 4, LAWRENCE 0: Blake Gordan scored two goals as Brunswick (8-5) cruised past Lawrence (2-11) at Fairfield.

Quang Durst and Ryan Black also scored, and Ian Burgess had two assists.

Ryan Brecia had six saves for the Dragons. Zach Alley had 10 for Lawrence.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

BRUNSWICK 5, LAWRENCE 0: Julia Champagne had two goals and an assist to lead the Dragons (8-4-1) over the Bulldogs (4-8-1) at Brunswick.

Anna Cowan added a goal and an assist, and Kira Wolpow and Haley Murano also scored.

NOBLE 3, SANFORD 1: Jordan White, Hannah Fields and Amber Kelly scored in the first 20 minutes of the second half to break open a scoreless game as the Knights (1-12-1) pulled away from the Spartans (3-10) at North Berwick.

Shaylee Ashburn earned the shutout with 10 saves, and Kelly and Kerri Fleming each added an assist for the Knights.

Morgan Fogg scored and Aisling Tiernan finished with nine saves for Sanford.

RICHMOND 6, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 1: Amber Loon and Miranda Martin each scored two goals to lead the Bobcats (13-1) over the Seagulls (1-11) at Richmond.

Autumn Acord and Kelsea Anair also scored.

Acord, Martin, Anair, Morgan Harrington and Cameron Hurley had assists.

Abigail James scored for Old Orchard.

VOLLEYBALL

SCARBOROUGH 3, GORHAM 1: Abby Mills finished with 14 kills, and Mary Cleary added nine kills, four digs and three aces as the Red Storm (13-0) beat the Rams (5-8) at Gorham.

Natalie Foster chipped in with eight kills and six digs, and Hallie O’Donnell collected 18 assists, seven digs and three aces for Scarborough.

Sam Robinson led Gorham with 25 digs. Charlene Landry added 12 digs and 15 assists.

SOUTH PORTLAND 3, LAKE REGION 0: Brianne Maloney had 11 kills and six digs to lead the Red Riots (2-11) past the Lakers (0-13) in straight sets at Naples.

Paige Carter added four aces and 10 digs, and Laurine German finished with 16 digs for South Portland.

YARMOUTH 3, THORNTON ACADEMY 0: Madeleine Anderson had seven kills and Grace Mallett added 10 aces to lead the Clippers (12-1) past the Trojans (1-12) at Saco.

Olivia Shaw and Lauren Leskowsky combined for six kills and four blocks for the Trojans.
