LEWISTON — Justin Zukowski rushed for 269 yards and scored three touchdowns Friday night, leading Portland to a 42-6 victory against Lewiston in an Eastern Class A football game.

Zukowski also stood out on defense along with Joe Esposito, contributing 12 tackles each.

The Bulldogs (6-1) grabbed an early lead when Jordan Talbot hit Brett Howell with a 25-yard touchdown pass. Lewiston (2-5) responded with a scoring drive that ended with Ace Curry snagging a 15-yard pass.

Zukowski scored his first TD on a 15-yard run before the end of the first quarter. Dominic Fagone provided the lone score of the second with a 33-yard pass from Talbot, sending the Bulldogs into halftime with a 21-6 lead.

While Portland shut out the Blue Devils in the second half, Zukowski added two touchdowns in the third quarter and Talbot broke free for a 60-yard run in the fourth.

FREEPORT 20, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 8: Freeport (4-3) ran for three touchdowns in a victory against Mountain Valley (1-6) at Rumford.

Joe Nixon ran in from 3 yards in the second quarter to give the Falcons a 7-0 halftime lead.

Pete LaMagna of Freeport intercepted a pass on the Mountain Valley 30 in the third quarter to start a scoring drive that ended with David Schealder scoring on a 7-yard run for a 13-0 lead.

Joe Nixon also had a forced fumble in the third for Freeport that was recovered by Jake Palmer.

LaMagna scored the final TD in the fourth on a 29-yard run.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 41, SACOPEE VALLEY 7: Bryan Roberts completed 6 of 9 passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Seagulls (4-3) over Sacopee Valley (0-7) at Old Orchard Beach.

Tyler Scott, who caught both touchdown passes for the Seagulls, snagged five passes for 112 yards. Freshman Dylan Creswell rushed for two third-quarter touchdowns for Old Orchard.

SANFORD 17, NOBLE 0: Chase Eldredge threw for 124 yards on 8-for-13 passing and ran for 104 yards to lead Sanford (3-4) over Noble (1-6) at North Berwick.

John Morgan pulled in four passes for 88 yards, including a 22-yard completion for the opening score in the first quarter.

Sanford increased its lead to 14-0 in the third quarter when Peter Heggarty scored on a 3-yard run. Heggarty ran for 101 yards on 14 carries.

Connor McGhee added a 31-yard field goal to finish the scoring.

Edward Macchetti preserved the shutout, making a game-ending interception at the Sanford 26.

Jed Scott led the defense with seven solo tackles and six assists. He also turned in two sacks and recovered a fumble.

WINTHROP/MONMOUTH 48, BOOTHBAY 8: Zach Glazier ran for a touchdown, and Mario Meucci and Brandon Goff had touchdown receptions to lead the Ramblers (7-0) over the Seahawks (3-4) at Boothbay Harbor.

Jacob Weeks and Alec Brown each added a touchdown run for Winthrop/Monmouth.

MESSALONSKEE 21, HAMPDEN ACADEMY 14: Jake Dexter had two touchdowns, one rushing and one passing, to lead the Eagles (4-3) over the Broncos (4-3) at Hampden.

Dexter’s touchdown pass came on a 35-yard connection to Devin Warren. Cory McKenzie added a 3-yard touchdown run for Messalonskee.

OCEANSIDE 53, GORHAM 0: Preston Spear rushed for 210 yards on 18 carries to lead Oceanside (2-5) over Gorham (0-7) at Rockland.

Spear ran for touchdowns of 41 and 50 yards and caught a 47-yard TD pass from Hunter Grindle.

Oceanside churned out 349 yards on the ground on 53 carries. Garret Burns accounted for 83 yards and two scores.

Cole Chase and Grindle had two interceptions each. Grindle returned one 38 yards in the fourth quarter for the final touchdown.

Quarterback Stephen Burns paced the Rams with 115 all-purpose yards.

WINDHAM 29, OXFORD HILLS 12: Griffin Jacobsen ran for 140 yards and a touchdown as the Eagles (4-3) downed Oxford Hills (1-6) at Windham.

Dylan Koza rushed for two touchdown and rolled up 108 yards on 17 carries.

MADISON/CARRABEC 34, CAMDEN HILLS 8: Chris Hayden rushed for 145 yards and a touchdown to lead the Bulldogs (1-6) over the Windjammers (1-6).

Hayden also scored on defense, returning an interception 65 yards. Jordan Curtis added 91 yards on 12 carries and scored two touchdowns.

Madison quarterback Chase Malloy was 5 for 5 passing for 65 yards. He threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Derek LeBlanc in the first quarter.

Camden Hills scored in the third quarter on a 2-yard run by Nick Rozsahegyi.

MDI 42, WATERVILLE 35: Teagan Candage made an interception with less than three minutes to play and scored the winning touchdown with 22.9 seconds to go as the Trojans (5-2) outlasted the Purple Panthers (6-1) in Bar Harbor.
