BRENTWOOD, N.H. — A New Hampshire woman has been sentenced to at least eight years in prison after pleading guilty to selling heroin that caused the death of a 22-year-old woman last year.

Portsmouth police had charged Jennifer Landry with selling $45 worth of heroin to Svetlana Filippenko on Nov. 20, a day before she was found dead of an overdose in her home.

The Portsmouth Herald reported that Landry apologized in Rockingham County Superior Court in Brentwood on Monday. She said she lives every day facing the consequences of her actions, and that she is doing everything she can to become a better person.
