WATERVILLE — Carl Lipani scored a pair of touchdowns while rushing for 68 yards on 10 carries, and Justin Ciero added 87 yards rushing and one touchdown as Colby beat Bates 21-3 in a football game Saturday.

Colby (3-3) set the tone early, forcing a three-and-out on the opening drive of the game, then scoring four plays later on a 49-yard run by Lipani.

For Colby, Ciero completed 10 of 22 passes for 165 yards, while Stephen O’Grady and Henry Nelson had nine tackles apiece. Daniel Maddox added seven tackles and an interception, one of the three on the day by the Mules.

Colby’s Ryder Arsenault finished with four catches for 100 yards and Luke Duncklee added five receptions for 60 yards.

Bates (2-4) was led by Ryan Curit, who caught three passes for 82 yards and also rushed for 38 yards on 12 carries.

MAINE MARITIME ACADEMY 63, NICHOLS 52: Billy Wetherbee rushed for a game-high 247 yards on 20 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns to lead the Mariners (1-5, 1-3), who built a 31-point lead going into the fourth quarter and held off a late charge by the Bison (1-6, 0-5) at Castine.

Michael Fahey added 178 yards rushing and scored four touchdowns for Maine Maritime, which amassed 499 rushing yards total.

The Mariners also got a pair of touchdowns from Ryan O’Neal, who ran for 38 yards on six carries.

WESLEYAN 34, BOWDOIN 14: The Cardinals (6-0) scored three fourth-quarter touchdowns to pull away from the Polar Bears (2-4) at Brunswick.

Tyler Grant and Mac Caputi each had a TD run for Bowdoin, while Grant finished with 119 yards on 23 carries.

GALLAUDET 16, HUSSON 13: Chase Magsig made a 26-yard field goal with 3:09 left to break a 13-13 tie and lift the Bison (7-0, 4-0) to an ECFC win over the Eagles (4-3, 3-1) at Washington.

Husson twice rallied to tie the game – on a 1-yard run by Byron Jackson and a 22-yard run by Shabashe McIntosh.

Jackson finished with a game-high 111 yards rushing on 16 carries for the Eagles.

NEW HAMPSHIRE 31, STONY BROOK 13: Sean Goldrich connected with Justin Mello for three touchdowns as New Hampshire (4-3, 3-1 Colonial Athletic Association) defeated Stony Brook (3-4, 1-3) at Stony Brook, N.Y.

Maine hosts Stony Brook next Saturday.

DELAWARE 35, RHODE ISLAND 13: Andrew Pierce rushed for 117 yards and three touchdowns to lead Delaware to a CAA win at Kingston, R.I.

PRINCETON 51, HARVARD 45: Roman Wilson scored a pair of touchdowns in triple overtime to help Princeton (5-1, 3-0 Ivy) beat Harvard (5-1, 2-1) at Cambridge, Mass.

NAVY 24, PITT 17: Navy (4-3) is within two wins of being eligible for a bowl game with a win over the Panthers (4-3) at Annapolis, Md.
