A Sanford man was killed in a single-car crash at 198 Log Cabin Road in Arundel Saturday night.

Bobby Hem, 26, of 2 Daylight Ave., Sanford, a passenger in the car, was killed in the crash around midnight Saturday when he was ejected from the car. York County Sheriff’s deputies said Hem was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 2002 BMW two-door sedan involved in the crash was operated by Brian Roche, 31, of Old Orchard Beach. Police said the car was traveling on Log Cabin Road when it failed to make a curve, left the roadway and hit a utility pole. Wires were dangling around the vehicle when the deputies arrived.

Roche was taken to Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford with non-life threatening injuries.

Maine State Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
