HENNIKER, N.H. — Rebecca Pratt and Natalie Harkins each racked up a hat trick as the University of Southern Maine rolled past New England College 8-2 in a women’s soccer game Tuesday.

Peyton Dostie and Ariel Kaplan also scored for USM, which improved to 9-10 on the year. The Pilgrims are 3-16.

UNE 2, WENTWORTH 2: Kaitlyn Hall scored two quick goals in the second half and the Nor’easters (8-8-2, 4-3-2 CCC) went on to tie the Leopards (6-8-4, 4-3-2) at Boston.

Trailing 2-0 at the half, Hall scored off a Margaret Palmer assist, then added her fifth goal of the season off a pass from Taylor Littlefield.

Brielle Robinson had six saves in goal for UNE.

FIELD HOCKEY

PLYMOUTH ST. 4, ST. JOSEPH’S 3: A goal at 2:42 of overtime put the Panthers (10-5) over the Monks (13-3) at Standish.

Kaitlyn Wilder’s goal capped a back-and-forth affair that saw St. Joseph’s rally from three one-goal deficits, with Effie Drew’s 66th-minute goal sending it to overtime. Carley Denis and Meghan Williams also scored a goal apiece for St. Joseph’s.

TUFTS 1, BOWDOIN 0: A late goal lifted the Jumbos (8-5-1, 6-4 NESCAC) over the Polar Bears (8-3-3, 5-3-2) at Medford, Mass.

SALEM ST. 2, USM 0: Max Mondestin and Ralph Bertrand scored second-half goals and the Vikings (3-12) blanked the Huskies (0-17-1) at Salem, Mass.

UNE 0, WENTWORTH 0: Aiden McParland made 10 saves as the Nor’easters (6-8-4, 1-6-2 CCC) ended their season with a tie against the Leopards (2-14-1, 2-6-1) at Boston.

FOOTBALL

FLORIDA STATE: FSU has the confidence of oddsmakers leading up to Saturday’s contest against Miami. No. 3 FSU opened the week as a 21-point favorite against No. 7 Miami – the largest spread between undefeated top-10 teams at this point in the season, according to R.J. Bell of Pregame.com.

NOTRE DAME: Suspended quarterback Everett Golson said he was disciplined by the school for the fall semester for using “poor judgment on a test.”

Golson had previously said he was suspended for using poor academic judgment, but in an interview with Sports Illustrated he specified that the issue occurred during a test.

Asked if he cheated on a test, Golson said: “Yeeeaaaah, something like that.” He finished by saying he was going to leave it at “poor judgment.”
