YARMOUTH — Foxcroft Academy held off a late charge by North Yarmouth Academy to win Saturday’s state Class C field hockey championship, 1-0.

NYA (14-3-1) had limited chances but worked three penalty corners in the final two minutes. Marina Poole’s bid went wide and then with seconds to play Kayla Rose had a drive blocked by Foxcroft keeper Briana Skolfield. A third corner was earned after time ran out. Another Rose blast was deflected wide. Finally, Foxcroft was able go clear the ball to end the game.

Madison Fadley scored with 16:07 left in the first half.

Foxcroft (18-0) allowed one goal this season.
