NORTH BERWICK — Alex Frank scored 13 minutes into the game Saturday and third-ranked Portland reached the Western Class A schoolboy soccer final with a 1-0 victory against second-seeded Noble.

Josh Irving set up the goal for the Bulldogs (12-2-2), dribbling the ball up the left side and lining a pass over the keeper to Irving on the far side for a header into the top of the net.

Bobby Brittingham stopped all five shots he faced, including a penalty kick midway through the second half. Drew Martin had 14 saves for Noble (12-2-1).

Portland will be at Scarborough in the regional final Wednesday.

YARMOUTH 5, CAPE ELIZABETH 0: Clippers keeper Alex Lyon made his only save of the game just seconds into the match at Yarmouth, and Adam LaBrie scored off a perfect cross from Ben Decker a minute later as the top-seeded Clippers (13-0-3) sailed past fourth-seeded Cape Elizabeth (6-6-4) and into the Western Class B championship game against second-seeded Greely.

David Clemmer put in the rebound of a LeBrie shot to increase the lead to 2-0 before LaBrie notched his second goal of the game. Chandler Smith headed home a shot to increase the lead to 4-0 at the half. Max Watson’s second-half penalty kick completed the scoring.

Austin Andrews had four saves for the Capers.

GIRLS

CAPE ELIZABETH 3, FREEPORT 1: Montana Braxton collected two assists for the top-ranked Capers (13-2-1), who took a 3-0 halftime lead and held off the fifth-ranked Falcons (10-6) in a Western Class B semifinal at Cape Elizabeth.

Addie Wood, Kate Breed and Kathryn Clark scored for Cape Elizabeth.

Julia Smith answered for Freeport late in the second half.

Mary Perkins made three saves for the Capers. Olivia Dimick stopped 12 shots for Freeport.

GREELY 1, YORK 0: Jocelyn Mitiguy scored early in the second half to lift the second-seeded Rangers (11-4-1) over the sixth-seeded Wildcats (6-7-3) in a Western Class B semifinal at Cumberland.

Elyse Dinan made four saves to record the shutout. Emma Rohrer finished with 14 saves for York.

WAYNFLETE 5, ST. DOMINIC 2: Ella Millard and Leigh Fernandez scored two goals apiece for the fifth-seeded Flyers (13-2-2), who scored four times in the second half to pull away from the top-seeded Saints (13-2-1) in a Western Class C semifinal at Auburn.

Helen Gray-Bauer added a goal for the Flyers. Marley Byrne and Faith Grady scored for the Saints.

Juliana Harwood made four saves for Waynflete; Kelly Pomerleau had 17 for the Saints.
