FRYEBURG — Fryeburg police are urging residents to be “hyper-vigilant” after five break-ins in the past week.

The latest was discovered early Sunday morning at an unoccupied home on Baker Circle.

The home is owned by an out-of-state family who had not been there in several weeks, so police think the break-in may have occurred several days ago. Police are still trying to figure out what, if anything, was taken.

Burglars also broke into a home on Sanborn Road early Saturday morning. A resident interrupted the home invasion.

Residents of a home on North Elkins Brook Road experienced two home invasions while they were sleeping late last month. An animal shelter was also broken into.

There is no word on arrests or even whether the incidents are connected.
