ELLSWORTH — Zach Pitcairn scored following a direct kick midway through the first half Wednesday, and second-seeded Camden Hills went on to a 1-0 victory against top-ranked Ellsworth in the Eastern Class B schoolboy soccer final.

The game not only matched the top two teams in the region but two undefeated teams.

The Windjammers (16-0-1) will meet Greely (13-2-2) for the state title at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Hampden Academy.

Marshall Spear earned the shutout for the Windjammers against the Eagles (15-1-1), his ninth of the season.

 

MARANACOOK 1, HALL-DALE 0: The second-seeded Black Bears (15-0-2) will play for a boys’ state title for the first time after defeating top-ranked Hall-Dale (16-1) in the Western Class C final at Farmingdale.

Maranacook will meet Madawaska (16-1) in the state final Saturday.

The Black Bears dominated, outshooting the Bulldogs 21-1. Taylor Wilbur scored 10:32 into the second half following a series of corner kicks.

 

RICHMOND 5, GREENVILLE 0: The second-seeded Bobcats (13-2-2) scored four goals in the second half to down fourth-ranked Greenville (12-4-1) in the Western Class D final at Richmond.

Richmond will meet Bangor Christian for the state title Saturday at Bath.

GIRLS

RICHMOND 3, BUCKFIELD 0: Amber Loon scored twice and Kelsea Anair added a goal and an assist as the top-ranked Bobcats (15-1) beat third-seeded Buckfield (10-5-2) in the Western Class D final at Richmond.

Richmond will play Washburn for the state title Saturday at Bath.
