Portland police are investigating a stabbing that took place around 3:30 a.m. Sunday near Oxford and Elm streets.

Lt. Gary Hutcheson said police were notified by Maine Medical Center that doctors had treated a stabbing victim. Police indentified the stabbing victim as Christopher Raymond. His age and hometown were not available.

Hutcheson said Raymond was stabbed with a knife during an altercation involving another male. That person has not been identified. Raymond’s wounds were not considered to be life-threatening.
