BATH — Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel is paying a visit to Maine’s Bath Iron Works.
Hagel plans Thursday to tour the newest destroyer, the stealthy DDG-1000, which is under construction. The Zumwalt is the largest destroyer ever built for the Navy. It will be christened this spring.
Hagel also will address shipbuilders and Navy personnel.
Afterward, Hagel will head to Nova Scotia for a security conference.
