STANDISH — Mariah Callender and Megan Pelletier each scored 14 points to pace the Southern Maine women (4-2) as they pulled away from St. Joseph’s (4-2) in the second half of a 60-49 win.

Callender made 4 of 5 from behind the 3-point line, including a pair of long shots during a 13-0 USM run that started with nine minutes left and extended the Huskies’ lead to 16.

Callender also had five rebounds and four steals while Rebecca Knight and Taylor Flood added eight points apiece.

The Monks were led by Lindsay Moore with 13 points and eight rebounds.

Morgan Cahill and Emily Kehoe chipped in 10 points apiece for the Monks.

DARTMOUTH 81, MAINE 56: Alex Mitola, Connor Boehm and Dartmouth showed little rust from a two-week layoff, using two big runs in the first half to race away from host Maine.

Mitola scored a season-high 19 points and Boehm hit 7 of 10 shots for 15 points, also a season best, to lead Big Green (3-1). Dartmouth hadn’t played since Nov. 16.

Maine drew first blood and maintained narrow leads until the Big Green made a 9-0 run to lead 26-25 with 4:09 left in the opening half.

Dartmouth finished those last four minutes at a 13-5 clip, led 39-30 at the break and never trailed in the second half.

Zarko Valjarevic led Maine (1-5) with 17 points.

SOUTHERN MAINE 64, ST. JOSEPH’S 60: Conor Sullivan scored 19 points and Tyler Penney added 17 as the Huskies (3-2) pulled away from the Monks (1-3) in the second half at Standish.

James Odneal added 11 points for the Huskies, who led by as many as 18 points in the second half.

Nich Jobin scored a game-high 23 points to pace the Monks, who fell to the Huskies for the first time since the 2007-08 season.

BOWDOIN 66, BABSON 54: Matt Mathias scored 15 points to lead four players in double figures as the Polar Bears (4-0) beat the Beavers (4-1) at Brunswick.

John Swords added 13 points and seven rebounds for Bowdoin, which took control with an 11-0 run late in the first half.

Andrew Madlinger chipped in 11 points for the Polar Bears and Grant White scored 10.

BOWDOIN 5, UMASS-DARTMOUTH 1: Matt Rubinoff scored a pair of goals and also had an assist as the Polar Bears (4-2-1) downed the Corsairs (2-6-1) in the finale of the Colby-Bowdoin Faceoff at Brunswick.

Colin Downey added a goal and an assist for the Polar Bears and Connor Quinn and John McGinnis also found the net.

Steve Messina needed to make just 11 saves for Bowdoin.

COLBY 6, SUFFOLK 3: Jack Burton and Ben Chwick each scored a pair of goals to lead the Mules (3-2-2) past the Rams (3-5-1) at Brunswick during the Colby-Bowdoin Faceoff.

Chwick also had an assist and Jack Bartlett added three assists for the Mules, who took the lead 54 seconds into the game.

Tyler Lingel also scored for Colby and Ben Csiernik made 22 saves.

UMASS-BOSTON 5, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 2: Peter MacIntyre scored three goals for the Beacons (4-1-2) as they defeated the Nor’easters (3-6-1) in the title game of the P.A.L./Stovepipe Tournament at Manchester, N.H.

Cassidy April and Jared Melman also scored for the winners.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

UMASS-BOSTON 4, COLBY 3: Katie Loiselle scored the eventual game-winner six minutes into the third period and the Beacons (2-6-1) held on to edge the Mules (3-3) at Waterville.

Trailing 4-1, Colby cut the deficit to one on a pair of goals by Megan Fortier.

Samantha Slotnick also scored for the Mules.
