FRYEBURG — Marias Valente scored seven of her 19 points in the fourth period Tuesday night to help Gray-New Gloucester rally to a 47-42 victory against Fryeburg Academy in a Western Maine Conference schoolgirl basketball game.

The Patriots (2-0) trailed 36-33 through three quarters before rallying past Fryeburg (0-2).

Julia Quinn led the Raiders with 16 points.

GORHAM 63, BIDDEFORD 25: Freshman Emily Esposito scored 14 points to lead the Rams (2-0) over Biddeford (0-2) at Gorham.

Esposito scored all of her points in the first quarter as Biddeford opened a 28-7 lead. The Rams had four 3-pointers in that quarter, two from Ashley Woodbury, and one from Emily DeLuca and Kristen Curley.

MCAULEY 68, MASSABESIC 22: Allie Clement finished with 19 points, Victoria Lux added 12, Jaclyn Welch had 11 and Olivia Delphonse 10 as the Lions (2-0) defeated the Mustangs (0-2) at Portland.

Jolena Lampron led Massabesic with nine points. Chelsie Goodwin followed with eight.

SOUTH PORTLAND 54, SANFORD 46: Holly Black finished with 14 points, and Madeline Hasson and Lydia Henderson added nine each to lead the Red Riots (2-0) past the Spartans (0-1) at South Portland.

Morgan Fogg led Sanford with 22 points.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 56, BELFAST 22: The Panthers (1-1) shot 16 for 18 from the foul line in the fourth quarter to defeat Belfast (0-1) at Waldoboro.

Maggie Cox shot 11 for 12 from the line for the game for Medomak – all of her scoring. Samantha Griffin led the Panthers with 17 points; Hannah Marks added 16.

WINDHAM 52, MARSHWOOD 40: Sadie Nelson scored 26 points to lead Windham (1-1) over Marshwood (0-2) at South Berwick.

Haley Batchelder added 10 points for the Eagles.

Kathleen Locke paced the Hawks with 13 points.

TRAIP ACADEMY 66, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 27: Kendra Kagiliery made three 3-pointers in the first quarter as Traip Academy (1-1) took command against the Panthers (0-1) at Yarmouth.

Kagiliery led the Rangers with 13 points.

Charlotte Esancy scored 14 points for the Panthers.

THORNTON ACADEMY 41, DEERING 27: Olivia Shaw finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and a blocked shot as Thornton Academy (1-1) beat Deering (1-1) at Saco.

Ashley Howe added 10 points, four assists and four steals.

Thornton went on an 8-1 run in the second quarter to take a 21-12 halftime lead. Mary Tadsse led the Rams with 10 points.

EDWARD LITTLE 67, BRUNSWICK 66: Emily Jacques hit the go-ahead shot with 8 seconds left in the second overtime as the Red Eddies (2-0) edged the Dragons (1-1) at Brunswick.

Jacques and Kory Norcross finished with 17 points each for Edward Little.

Julia Champagane led Brunswick with 31 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. Lyse Henshaw added 24 points and nine rebounds.FALMOUTH 38, YARMOUTH 35: Ally Hickey scored 10 points as the Yachtsmen (1-1) edged the Clippers (1-1) at Yarmouth.

The Clippers trailed by 17 points going into the fourth quarter but cut the lead to three with full-court pressure.

Grace O’Donnell finished with 11 rebounds for Yarmouth.

LINCOLN ACADEMY 40, LEAVITT 28: Barrett Campbell scored 13 points, including four during a game-opening 12-4 run, to lead the Eagles (2-0) past Leavitt (1-1) at Newcastle.

SCARBOROUGH 43, WESTBROOK 29: Mackenzie O’Brien hit two 3-pointers, and Brooke Malone and Regan Mars each added a pair of field goals as the Red Storm (2-0) began the game with a 16-5 run against Westbrook (0-1) at Scarborough.

Ashley Briggs, with 15 points, finished as Scarborough’s leading scorer. Alisha Aube scored 11 for the Blue Blazes.

CHEVERUS 68, BONNY EAGLE 29: Jess Willerson scored 18 points as Cheverus (2-0) defeated the Scots (0-2) at Standish.

Willerson scored eight points in the opening period, helping the Stags to a 23-4 lead. Georgia Ford added five in the first period on her way to 13 points, and Jillian Libby finished with 14.

RANGELEY 53, HYDE 30: Diamond Brown scored a game-high 18 points but the Phoenix (0-1) fell to Rangeley (2-0) at Bath.

WATERVILLE 35, MAINE CENTRAL INSTITUTE 24: Colleen O’Donnell scored 11 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and had seven steals to lead the Panthers (1-1) over the Huskies (0-2) at Pittsfield.

Jordan Jabar had 13 points and nine rebounds for Waterville, which led 13-0 after one quarter.
